Ascents of Éclat de Soleil

Really cool climb, so different from Petranta, even though just 2m apart. 2 different cruxes with different beta depending on your height and the second one just finishes with style! I even left out a little power scream at the last move. Take that for a last climbing day of the holiday trip.

Went up with the two monos, which seemed okay for the grade. Probably a lot easier than 7a+ if you can skip those.

Great technical route. Wrong tickmarks and chalk luckily ended after a bailbiner. Somewhere in the cruxy zone (say the middle) I had to kick a hornet gently off the only subtle foothold. Didn't die. Thanks Kiki and hornet.

Soft

2nd shot after hesitating at the bulge for too long on the onsight in far too humid conditions. Enjoyable climbing, even the slab!

So close to flashing it! Would definitely be worth trying it again. Steep line with very cool moves and a powerful crux

Fell 1 move before it turned into 6b climbing because I didn't see the hold.

Redpoint on 2nd attempt felt easy.

Lovely climb though!

Went for this after Thomas and Manu. Interesting and very thin, but also thuggy in parts, on broccoli, orange and grey rock. Crux move hard to figure out – only just made it to the pocket.

Ye sorry but there is no "+" here as much as i would have liked there to be. Had qds on, tricky traverse, happy that i stuck to my plan for the crux and it was the right choice. 1 hard move and surprisingly cool finish. Great first climb of the trip!

Cruxy

Another newish route. Hard to read crux, as it weaves around a bit and shares some holds with the route to the left. Has a cool sequence of blocky pinches.
