Ascents in Gerakios Upper Cave

Really enjoyed that line. Harder than the right option and more aesthetic. Got it 2nd go without any rests.

Not a big fan of climbs where the anchor clip is the crux. It's a nice 6c until the anchor.

With qds and beta it worked sort of easyish, despite a major underestimation below the rest. Ended up changing the beta i was given but it was a good choice. A bit easier and less nice copared to the 7b to the left.

decided to warm up on this. might be a bit tougher as a warm up.... still good though.

easy to the crimp. fall a lot at the crimp.. easy to the anchor. managed to actually hold the crimp once but not sure how much body weight was actually taken off....a lot?? feeling like i might be getting my strength back in my right hand though. wishful thinking?? x 3 shots. all felt good

after two years of back problems, i really doubted my abilities. i really shouldnt have. this was nicer than the warm up. felt easy.

thought i would alternate my climbing with a lap of this and a lap of katranemia.

pretty slimy day and the start was almost impossible to do. so wet! however, apart from the crux move, the rest went quite easily. if only the crux wasnt a right hand crimp. pinched nerve damage.... 3 shots

Would describe this route as “character building” just for me personally. Can definitely see how this gets 3 stars - will go back for it

I led the last 3 pitches.

2nd shot in the blazing sun (and the days of suffering with sunburn that followed were a constant reminder). Super easy juggy climbing to a hard but radical techo-tufa boulder problem finale. 7b+ in the rockfax guide... yeah, nah.

Would probably be 7a/23 back home. Steep funky jugs to a slightly tricky finale solved with good footwork. A worthwhile problem.

Certainly a great fun route (similar to Spartacus) and worth the walk up, but not 8a. Hence its popularity! [2]
