Summary
Situated just off SH8 about 20km outside of Twizel on the way to Lake Tekapo. This small selection of boulders is barely known about but offers high quality bouldering in a beautiful setting.
Access issues inherited from Mt Cook Bouldering
Stick to the trails in the national park do not cut across vegetation areas. This is a sensitive area do not ruin it for others
Approach
Park off the highway in various laybys about 2km east of the lake pukaki viewpoint. Boulders are to the north of the road. Pink Elephant is the first house sized boulder you will come across.
Where to stay
Tekapo and Twizel are not far away.
Ethic
Brush off ticked holds. Bring snips so you can help keep the rosehip at bay. Treat area with respect, leave no trace ethics.
