Ascents in Tamatea

Pretty decent 17, off start of Popeye.

Fun technical climbing for the grade following seam for first three bolts, then over ledge and into some easier yet still engaging climbing to finish.

Very soft 24. Maybe even 22. Got it second go. Ash flashed It!

Poor rock quality and sharp! Will get back on it!

Not much to say. pretty straight forward

I realise grades are extremely subjective but this isn't a 24. The opening has solid hold for the right hand and workable feet are there to support the crimps used to move higher. There is a moment between the 2nd and 3rd bolt that is challenging but it is possible to lunge up and secure a big hold after just a couple of crimpy moves. The rest of the climb is is much easier, perhaps only grade 17 - 18 max. My suggestion for a revised grade would be 22.

Cleaned with moon boot! First outdoor lead with one foot.

Think we did this. not sure, but it was good. Felt hard for a 17, but everything felt hard today!

Sweet. Stiff for the grade perhaps.

Nice route. I think you go up the arete below the first bolt. Still soft for the grade.
