Ascents in Lower Tier

1st outdoor 20. Felt more like an 18.

Quite worn. Nice crux but over pretty quickly.

Ugh, should have onsighted this Simple ignimbrite fare, straight up the face on pockets. Slightly to left of bolts probably slightly easier than to the right

A long long belay session while Gareth worked it, so had a fair bit of pocket beta. Felt soft for 20, foot placement starting the crux is crucial.

Warmdown? Felt pretty good.

Debating whether knee was up to it. In the end the crux was straightforward then had a mare trying to clip the anchor with a clusterfucked tether and a bit of pump. Probably 19, but.

Very fun climb with a nice crux.

Directly up beside the arete through the crux, bridging and heel hooks. I call 19. Fat old chain at top is a bugger to clip anything through.

Never been on this. First bolt felt high, then just keep it going on smalL but not tiny stuff. A little overhung, good body position will help.

Community service to put the pull cord back up. Felt like 20 today, too slow through crux, tore my finger up a little.

Very nice route - cruisey at start, then a pumpy pull over a bulge, then a ledge to stand on to shake out forever, then a pumpy arête to anchor! ☆

Finally came back to tick this one off Felt super easy to me this time (thought I was accidentally on an 18) but I remember it felt a proper 20 back in the day! I trust my feet better now and just use whatever hold I find rather than pumping myself silly looking for better 😜

Pumped out putting the gear up.

Went right on bulge, harder. Pumped and a sit. Solo rig working well.

Such a nice rest ledge.

The usual beta.

TRS play right of the bolts at the bulge. Not really getting it, a few hangs. Rapped off from ledge above it.

Last before lunch and loss of shade.

2nd lap TRS. Played around out right on the bulge, had a sit.

Got a bit too focused and didn't clip the lower of the 2 crux bolts. Oops too late. Then nearly repeated that with the final bolt.

Up to retrieve the anchor. Using all the bolts this time.

Led for a change instead of TRS, feels good.

Lap 2. A bit pumped at top.

The usual tactic through the middle.

Went right thru middle, forced back left below ledge.

Cool route. Enjoyed it.
