Ascents climbed between 2018-00-00 and 2018-12-31 in Oceania by Cameron Semple

Glad to finally lead this.

Fell on the second last bolt trying to be lazy. Top felt sketchy.

Top still a bit cryptic, but not bad.

Lead both pitches this time. Second pitch is soooo good. Gotta be one of the best at the grade on the pipes?

Used a different foot sequence down low on the slab. Worked. Pulled through the headwall with plenty of grunting. First at the grade.

Great fun the whole way. Awesome climb for the first day of summer. Lead first and third. First onsight at the grade.

Chucked a TR on. All clean except the thin move down the bottom.

What a brilliant day out. Stunning weather, great climbing and well protected. I lead 1st and 3rd. Dan 2nd and 4th. Quality slab climbing in an amazing location. Approach notes: After heading left and down at the boulders, walk along under the Suzuki Complex until you reach a sloping polished slab. Push through some shrubs to drop down a little onto the next ledge. Cairn here. Walk south for 10m or so before pushing down through some more shrubs. Left for 5m to a fixed rope around a rock.

First tick at the grade!

First go for the season. A couple of goes at the slabby move down the bottom then one hang on the last bolt.

One go on TR. a couple of rests.

One rest after clipping the third bolt. Pretty sustained from here on.

Bolt to bolt to warm up.

Probably the hardest moves of this block of 4.

Maybe slightly harder than Deep State.

Great climbing. Some tricky positions required.

Great bang for buck. A variety of styles required.

Didn't have time to climb out the cliff today, so did this to get a sample of the remainder of the routes. Take care with some of the clips before you get higher.

Still made a mess of it, but happy with this as a start for the season.

Remembering how to place gear. Such an awesome climb. Felt much more comfortable than last time, but still a long pitch.

Really good little crack climb. Had to retrieve our stuck rope from Centaur too.

Absorbing, reachy moves. Keep an eye out for the peregrines around here currently. They took a good look at us but didn’t seem too pissed off.

Thin crux

Really nice moves either side of the slopey arete.

Super thin start

Nice sequences. One fall near the top.

Get on it while the jugs survive. Good fun. One rest.

Quality rock and routes all along here. Just held it together at the top.

Found the start hard. Had to have a restart.

Great climb with a variety of styles. Keeps you thinking all the way.

Great intro to slabbing. Prob tricky for a 13. Maybe the rock is “evolving” a bit

A lap on top rope. Missed a hold down lower and need to remember more moves to have a better chance.

Really nice route! Rare to have a nice route at this grade with no big ledges.
