Ascents in La Cueva having Beta

As good an easy route as you could find

First bolt was looking a bit questionable, but still solid

Soft for the grade but pretty honeycomb rock and nice views.

Tough, slippery start

I´d been working up the courage to climb this route since I first came to Hatun Machay. Totally burned out on the relentless overhang but stoked to finish! I´ll have to come back... with more muscles

In contention for hardest 6b in the world

Beautiful (overgrown) corner crack which looked like it hadn't been climbed in years. Its blank slabby features in the dihedral force you to climb the crack via jamming only. Mostly hand jams with one or two fist jams. Ate and inhaled a lot of dirt just to give up at the crux..

Came down from the second move but still going to claim the onsight for the rest of the 25m

What a line! Pretty steep on amazing rock inside the cave with a strong move to pull over the small roof. Stiff for the grade at this altitude.

Hard start but nice holds for the first few bolts. The upper part of the face wasn't the nicest rock.
