Nodes in Route 64

To get there turn right at the crossroads on Jan Smuts Avenue onto Bradley Road, then right at the T-junction into Mountbatten Place. Park at the end, and take the path left to the Giba Gorge overlook, at the bench below the pylon.

To access the Route64 crag from the benches at the top take the path going diagonally left (South) down the hill. At the trees at the top of the gulley go down the path into the gulley. About 15 m down after the concrete and corrugated iron structure make your way right to the start of the crag. The two climbs that have been opened so far are at the start of the wall. There is potential for other longer and harder routes on the crag, but some areas have loose rock that will need caution.

This route follows the second crack up the corner and through the overhang. Higher than Corona corner, at about 17m. Sling a large tree and retrieve the sling easily from the top later.

Between Route64 and Corona Corner. Can go left or right around the bulge.

This is the first obvious route up the crack in the corner. It is well protected. Take a long sling, or two joined slings, to use the tree at the top of the crack. It is probably best to go up to the second higher tree at the top of Route64 and lower off there. This sling can be cleaned from the top.
