Ascents in Castellet De Calp

So close to the onsight, one fall on a tricky move. Would come back to it.

7a in guide book. Probably fair.

Read some comments about very sharp holds. Taped finger tips for the climb - so worth it 😁 Climbed straight up at the roof. Desperate but good holds are coming. Very reachy bolt placements for me (152)

Fantastic! The view, the wind, the rests and the exposure. But the approach to climb this route was tougher

Powerful bouldery start, first two draws, goes into strenuous climb on good holds on slight overhang.

I can only agree. Way too soft for 7c or even 7c+ like mentioned in the CostaBlanca book. Lot of routes grades need probably to be reworked.

A wee bit of pocket pulling. Nice moves but not 7c. Could even be soft for 7b+. This crag really needs some grade ammendments.

Powerful to start but backs off a touch to the top. Nice.

3 shots in about 40min, the last was in the dark with a headlamp. Awesome sustained steepness with tufas, pockets, layback crack and arete slapping. HARD for the grade! The crimp crux is energy sapping and makes the moves off it feel devastating. Some crap rock towards the top.

Hard start then sustained strenuous crimpy sharpness. Okay for a short route. My flash of this might well constitute the ugliest climbing of all time as I campused the opening crux in desperation.
