You'd expect the crux to be the bulge in the first half or the rooflet, but those are actually quite easy. It's the crimpy finish that gets you. Really great route, I just didn't want to overstrain my injured finger with a second go.

This is the traverse going across the overhanging mid-section of the sector. Gets harder and harder towards the end, so I had to rest at one particularly reachy move.

Feels much harder than Little Big Wall. There are several really strenous sequences. In the steepest one, the good sidepull probably was solid once but now it's crumbling, making that move even more reachy. I expected the usual runout at the end but it suddenly gets overhanging again and I guess I really need to save some strength for that. It looks like a good hold broke off there entirely, too.

Oof. Now that's a 7b, I suppose. The dihedral is tricky but doable, and I got quite far in the roof. I couldn't figure out how to exit it though. I climbed back to the fixed draw (that probably just belongs to Poseidon) and cleaned it from there. I think I need some beta or at least an extension from the next bolt.

We spent like half an hour finding our way to the sector. It seems rather abandoned. This route, however, proved to be a real gem! Long and technical, a perfect #lastrouteoftheday after Poseidon is already shady. Judging from the bottom the other routes here don't seem worth a try...

Surprisingly doable! The crux is a wide move to the left with some confusing foot work, followed by not-so-good holds that basically lead into the crux of Toros, but leaving it right away. Don't clip the wrong bolt! The correct one is loose, unfortunately... A bit further up there's a really far move out of two underclings, which I hope will still be as easy for when linking it all.

Some Russians cleaned the route for us in the meantime, so I put it in again from the ground up to climb the second pitch as well. I totally underestimated the remaining length after leaving the overhang, so I ended up with enormous rope drag until the finish. The first pitch is rather underwhelming but the second surely makes up for it.

Went in here based on Samo's recommendation. Fought my way to the third bolt but couldn't make it through the wide dihedral. Some guys came and informed me that most people consider this at least 7b, and I'm only at the first, easier crux. this_kills_the_ambition.jpg At least they generously left me their clipstick, which I used to escape to a fixed draw of the neighboring route and clean it, since this one is just expansion bolts.

An "interesting" route. We switched sectors to avoid the sharp holds of the freshly bolted Michi sector, but didn't take into account that apparently nobody ever climbs this route. Instead of struggling with finding good holds, the challenge was to identify the ones that didn't try to amputate your fingers. All in all not bad though.

This attempt went much better than before. I'm really optimistic now! The lower part went smoothly, but still more exhausting than it should be. I first rested in the middle of the roof, and once more right before the crux move.
This time, I also extended the fixed draw, which helped a lot to reduce drag. Using my panic draw to clip the crux seems to be the best way to go. |

My home planet! The actual cruxes (into and out of the hole) didn't feel that hard to me, but I was still totally exhausted afterwards, wheezing through the steep, crimpy finish. This was like 99% onsight. I got a few helpful hints, but they weren't really make-or-break. Getting cheered on by the man Öztürk K. himself was a nice touch though.
