Routes as sport in Northern England

The route starts on Bat Route and then heads into a section of 8c+, before rejoining Bat Route on the headwall.

Initially graded 9a/a+ it settled at 9a.

Extension of 'Thriller' through the boulder problem and then traverses right on decent holds to a middle of the crag lower-off.

From where 'Victor Hugo' traverses right, Hugo Boss now goes straight up via another very hard boulder problem, followed by another hard move left and then straight up to join Zippy's line at the often-wet streak (dry now). From the junction it's still about 7c+ to the top, finishing right up there on the ledge. Steve McClure

Hardest moves gain a small ledge. Pull left into the corner and follow this to the ramp.

Direct to the belay just right of Jim Grim

Original route traverses the upper break to the right. Rarely climbed and mostly superseded by the direct version

Very difficult to on sight. Many hidden holds and some long reaches. Make sure you bring a brush to clean it, otherwise slopers might be difficult to grab

Start in the gully to the left of Born Again Buttress

A hard start leads to easier ground. Take care clipping the second bolt as a missed clip would give ground fall potential.

Climb through overlap then up and right on excellent holds, finishing direct to the lower off. Lovely sustained climbing.

Superb strenuous start leading to excellent climbing up the exposed pillar.

Loose rock and vegetation.

Excellent hard sustained climb.
