Access issues
FRAGILE WHEN WET - don't climb after storms, holds will rip off.
CRYPTOBIOTIC SOIL - on the approach hikes avoid the dark crusty soil - it's a living organism.
Approach
Head east from Moab on State Highway 128 along the Colorado river for about 20 miles. - Take Castle Valley Road for Parriott Mesa, The Rectory & Castleton Tower. - Continue along SH 128 for about another mile and take the dirt road up Ida Gulch for Sister Superior Group, The Convent and the northern end of Pariott Mesa.
Where to stay
Car camping available at Castleton Tower parking lot. Otherwise, camping at Fisher Towers trailhead, or various sites along the Colorado river. Moab is a 30 minute drive.
