Ascents in Candlestein Pass

Love this climb. Will return for redpoint.

Really nice arête and slab climb with few features in some places. It took me a few tries to figure out the crux. Strange climbing, I felt insecure in many places.

Nice but weird arrete climbing. Happy to have climbed with the rope from the top.

Glad I didn't try and onsite this one. Definately deserves the 'R' rating.

Lead with preplaced gear and lots of beta, i had been taking photos of people climbing it before i did.

The first poodle route at J-Tree

Fell once down low pulled on a few pieces up high. Sloppy but I'll come back and get it clean! Great route though it felt somewhat run out in the middle section (albeit on fairly moderate terrain).

Absolutely superb route. Definitely on my hit list for a flash lead.

My friend Chris lead it after i bailed at the crux...Good job Chris! We rapped at the anchors 60-70 feet up

Tricky finger crack

Finger crack down low has megabomber finger locks, though I found the gear to protect the first move a tiny bit tricky (or perhaps I just thought extra hard about it because a ground fall would not be good).

Pretty fun route. You'll probably want a green alien for the bottom flake since I wouldn't trust the piton. Apparently an old piton ripped out up high as well, which accounts for the moderate distance between two of the bolts up high. I tried to protect this move with a tiny nut, but I doubt it would have done much if I fell on it.

Fantastic climb. Took a small fall and hung. Definitely a flailfest for me. Felt harder than the other 10a fingercracks I've done in the park.

Finally led it clean!

While a poor lead due to bad gear, this is an excellent and highly enjoyable top-rope, and an anchor at the end of White Lightning sets it up well.

First route of Christmas Day. A cracker!

Spectacular climb. Finally, something that felt solid at the grade haha.
