Up a crack to a indent. Head right following a diagonal crack, then up jugs. Bolt anchors.

Easy climbing on patina plates, top is run-out but easy. Could be protected by slinging the plates? Bolt anchors are behind a protrusion and not visible from the ground.

Up a water chute. Same anchors as Serpent Scales

Traverse right from the end of P1 of Some Like it Hot to the anchor at the top of Illusion Dweller.

Fairly run out sport climbing up this excellent line with great rock.

One of the hardest routes in Joshua Tree. Considered a bit of a sandbag.

Funky easy climbing to a rad boulder problem. An excellent sport climb.

The most well bolted route in Joshua Tree? A little bit of everything from tricky lie backing to face climbing to jugging out a roof. Very nice.

Climb the first few feet (50?) of Suzies Cream Squeeze then venture onto the face to the right. Follow three bolts to the top.

From the ledge, climb bolts up a boulder sitting on the ledge to an anchor.

Ascends the curving arete right of Double Cross, pulling a roof on large holds halfway up. Enter a gulley, step right over blunt lip onto slab beneath roof, and head straight up clipping three bolts and a pin en route to a two-bolt anchor. Some discrepancyon the grade, but it's a safe lead.

Trad anchor (#2-3 cams), but otherwise a sport route - Joshua Tree's first.

The line of least resistance up an imposing block. Pull the ungradable mantle and steel thyself for a memorable quest up the face.

Hard to find. Up and under boulders 50m left of Pope's Crack. 5 bolts, bolt anchor

Mini documentary My Idea of Fun

The New Deal is the first 5.14a established by an American. Scott Cosgrove did the first ascent on Super Bowl Sunday January 31st, 1988 and he suggested the grade of 5.13d. It took 22 years for the New Deal to see a second ascent. Alan Moore repeated the New Deal in 2010 and suggested the grade of 5.14a. Video of second ascent.
