Ascents in Tennessee

Snowing!!! Big fat flakes of snow. My fingers went completely numb and I had to take coming around the rooflet. Nearly lost it up higher on a wet sloper.

Very happy to get this one clean, felt much better on it this time compared to last. Think I also used half the gear!!!

I like jumping on the "No Star" route every now and again. Nice fingers to start, followed by some adventure, route finding and traversing. I liked it!!!

My first trad lead and also my first crack climb on lead.

More muscle than finesse for me on this one. A classic climb when you are moving around the roofs

Very enjoyable, but went for the wrong gear as I was trying to pull the roof and had to take. Cruised the top.

Very sustained, need to develop a bit better technique before I get this clean.

Great beginner lead. Plenty of rests. You can highball the boulder with little to no risk.

Very burly boulder at the start. Might want to throw in a .75 just over the boulder's roof to help protect the move.

This route proved to challenge my nascent crack climbing skills. I pumped out at the crux near the top due to horrible technique.

Really enjoyed this one. Scored some nice beta for the mini roof and managed to pull it clean. Pulling the roof is a rewarding move.

You'll work hard through the bottom and mini roof section but will enjoy a nice face climb after that.

Loved it. Great next step for the aspiring leader. There are opportunities to practice one's crack climbing technique as well as lay backs and good face holds. The roof is easy to protect and features bomber holds.

Great beginner lead. Begins on a roof overhanging a huge boulder just north of Nappy. The first move can feel a little precarious. Fun face climb.

Great climb for the beginning trad leader. Slopey jugs abound. Can get chossy on the right side of the arete once you near the top, so go left.

Great face climb. Looking forward to tackling it on lead. The bottom is thin, so watch yourself. Moving right from the shallow corner to the nice finger crack is a nice stretch.

After a week at Indian Creek, this climb was a walk in the park compared to my first battle!!! Awesome climb, so prettyyyyy!

Nice crack, right next to cracked actor. Well protected, easy climbing.

Nearly sent it clean this time but ended up taking my first trad whipper instead. At least my #1 cam held. Looking forward to getting it clean on the next go around.

Another great climb for those needing to warm up or those in need of practicing their lower level skills. Plenty of chances to jam and layback.

Amazing lead. Hardest move is just below the last roof. You can face climb left to avoid the roof move.

The boulder is committing but quite doable. A few extended moves on great holds that are easy to identify.

Found the first section of crack to be the most strenuous as it appears to be a solid hand width from the ground but actually flares out backward in some sections making jamming and gear placement tricky for a novice jammer such as myself.

Climbing becomes easier as you progress.
