Part of an absolutely hectic 17 hour day to rig a highline between the Moai and the mainland. An amazing experience to climb this little tower sitting by itself off the main cliff line. The climbing itself was also very good quality.

The first pitch is like an 8 and we didn't bother roping up, but the second pitch was very cool. Was in a bit of a rush and fatigued so I feel like I didn't really get to appreciate the experience.

Such a good adventure. Only started hiking in at 4pm due to flight being cancelled, but luckily was light until 9. Scrambled up the first part to get clear of wave spray. Epic spot for an evening climb.

Pretty fun climbing, I would say 2 star moves with 3 star exposure and location. Had rain coming down on us and waves crashing into the cave, creating some incredible atmosphere.

So awesome! loved the techy face section and the cool layback moves at the top! glorious climbing in a wild position. First sea stack conquered! such a beautiful place to climb and an amazing little adventure! Rigged a sick highline too! So stoked to finally tick this off!

Gets the stars for the awesome position and stunning views. Some unique climbing heading right around the pillar following the flakes. Careful of the couple loose rocks on the way up to the belay ledge.

Great climbing, good pro, and obviously highly novel. Nice moves with solid exposure right down to the ocean. Guide book and thesarvo access descriptions were ambiguous, but you should be able to rap the entire way down on one rope

Fun and exciting climb with the soundtrack of the ocean playing in the background which went from sounding like a heavy death metal mosh pit to a classical sonata composed by a somewhat moody bipolar musician. All the moods were experienced with good flakes and friction along the way

Did it as two pitches as described but the belay ledge is super awkward and a pain with an 80m rope, would suggest doing as one (maybe it’s too wondery 🤷‍♀️). Either way great fun/exposure. Totally worth pumping myself out flaking the 80m three times over because of my terrible rope management!

Super windy day with a bit of spray on the platform. I did one pitch, in hindsight breaking it up would have been helpful to get both people out of the wind (backside less windy) and wet.

Moai day! Leisurely start. Cracking walk out pace set by the boys. Shyed away from burning spear after seeing it cane everyone and did SS. Nice enough climb. One cool move involving a layback side swap. Proceeded to veg the arvo out on the ledge. The gang made very impressive time getting out the 3p access route in less than an hour by climbing (some of us soloing) the whole thing. A delightful arrival back to forty bay with lachie running out onto the beach with beers. Why cant all climbing trips end luke that?

5 star mega classic. The line takes you over the bluest of blue water as you corkscrew up the pillar. A truly surreal experience on awesome rock with cool moves.and great pro.

What a ripper day. Good protection. 70m rope gets to the base of the mainland in two raps. Bird had unzipped a pack we left up the top but fortunately did not locate our last peanut butter & jam victory sandwich!!

I think my fourth trad lead and what a route for it. Interesting movement in a phenomenal position + great gear. It feels pretty special to top out on a thin pillar freestanding by the ocean.

Been ages since I've been to the Moai. It's a top notch day out. Nice lead by Dan, although he did selfishly place a bombproof wire that took some work to get out. Climbed in two downies, which made it bearable.
