Nodos en Rolled Quad Boulders

This area was almost the first area discovered at Beulah. Almost. However on that fateful day, we rolled the quad, almost broke a wrist and called it a day. Finally went back to continue searching on the evening before the 5th Annual 5 years later!

To Get There:

Follow the road east from the Donger. Watch for the "Swamp" sign on your left. Go left at the sign and follow the rough road to a creek crossing. Check the crossing first for depth of water and whether or not your vehicle will make it through.

By car or foot cross the creek and follow the road, go through a gate and continue east. Continue passed the sign for the "Swamp Boulders", continue passed "Sheep Shit Rock" following the road east. Just after Sheep Shit the road will turn left, but stay heading east along the slashed trail through the grass. When the slashing ends at a gate park here, hop the fence and head southeast across a creek and into the boulders.

The boulders continue scattered up hill and along the creek for about 1.5km, so there is a lot to explore still.

Most of the boulders, roughly at the same altitude along a contour from the north east starting with the 'Castle Tops', snaking with the creek to the south west ending near 'Wall-e'. When you walk in you'll probably find yourself somewhere in the middle around the 'Monkey boulder'.

If you cross the river and veer left (east) this is a band of boulders running east west along the hill contour, from the flat grass to about half way up the hill.

As you walk along the flat grass east, often the first boulder on your right you come across.

Head over the main creek and after 150m at the base of the boulder hill, a boulder with a small tree growing against it. Aprox 6m in height.

High step up the easy slab.

Sit start then up some bad holds to mantle over to top.

Sit start on small boulder, up to good underclings then trend right to top.

Sit start at the base of the right diagonal crack. Some great moves!

Sit start then up on slope to some good crimps.

Great problem, stand start on the small crimps then up to the big hold to easy top out.

Thin holds near the top. Stand start 2m right of the easy smooth slab. Up on crimps following the super thin wiggly flake.

2m right of Crisp. Tough start followed by an enjoyable high ball. Follows the diagonal featured section of rock, holds feel like they are facing the wrong way at start.

Sit start on the lower flake, up on some slopey holds, then follow the crimps just right of the arete.

Stand start on small holds, 2m left of Rough Ride.

Thin moves moving left near the top.

Up the crimpy slab face on the creek side of boulder. Stand start.

Tough inital moves of diagonal hold to gain a small crimp with left hand.

Nice holds on the face lead to a tricky mantle move over the top. Watch the small boulder underneath the problem when landing.

Stand start the traverse on the back side of the boulder.

Sit start low, up some tricky moves and small crimps.

Sit start then up past rail to thin top out.

Hardish start and then easier as you go up

SDS from either flake jug or right undercling crimp depending on height. Finish as for A Walk in the Park.

Good right hand side pull and right foot

Start with left hand on lower part of large undercling feature, and right hand on sidepull to the right. Up, trending up and left to top out on boulder.

Stand start, past the end of the SH roof on crimp and layback. Up using SH holds

Start on big jug, then stand on nothing and slap your way to the right then up.

Up rail then left through positive holds to scary slab. You cannot have too many pads!

Ok start holds, bust right to rail, follow back left then mantle

Start low of the thin crimp then up on the 'knob of your choice' (or go knobless!)

Sit Start as for Power Monkey but move out left near the top to small v groove hold.

The problem avoiding the groove and crimp near the top. Sit start with tough move to pull into under-cling, then slap up right and up for dirty mantle out right.

Wild slap to hard lock off and then mantle out right to avoid groove.

Sit start on the small crimps, then traverse left 1m then mantle bulge and up headwall.

Scrubbed by Alan but then forgotten? A much harder sit start is still a project

Sit start on the tiny sharp holds to join Escaped Monkey.

Stand start at the thin loose undercling flake, then bump up to a good hold to mantle over the top.

This Boulder/wall can be seen 50ms up the hill to the right of 'Spider monkey'

Climb up the loose crack at the left end of the boulder

Helps if your tall. Reachy, committing move.

The classic of the boulder/wall. Climbs the stella horizontal breaks that can be seen from Power boulder.
