First at the grade.

Navigation error, ended up going up via the crack on the left.

Some of the starting holds have ripped off making it much harder.

First trad lead. a lot of fun.

Desperate over the lip.

Great fun

Walked into the crag and saw heaps of climbs, but without trad gear seemed like every route had ground fall potential. First two bolts of this route are about 3 meters off the ground and a meter apart, with the third bolt then being about 7-8 meters off the deck. Bit sketch without supplemental gear.

Beautiful line. Placed a nut between second and third bolt.

Downclimb.

It feels as if everything is a half-pad crimp. I might need softer shoes to smear better. More experience on slaps and finding holds will help.

It definitely stung me by not being able to get it. I haven't worked out the secret yet, but I will.

Pleasant climbing on thin holds. First bolt quite high.

Lovely, flowing moves up the arete. First bolt quite high but ok to clip.

Second bolt was a little awkward to clip, then I didn’t see the third bolt until after I’d done the top mantle.

In addition to a Camelot 4 for the top break, you can protect the move to the first bolt with a small cam in the vertical crack to the right oft The start.

Bottom bolt too low, then a reach from the good pocket to the second bolt, where if you missed the clip you would hit the ledge. Fortunately, the moves are relatively easy.

The edges of the crack felt as though they could break off at any second - but didn’t.

Was greatful for the bolt. Slung a chicken head below it and a nut above before the top out. Some nice moves through the middle that Henry enjoyed working to earn a tick; Georgia didn’t quite get past the crux.

Georgia (10) had her first belay lesson. She lead belayed me then seconded this climb to clean it. Henry climbed it too.

Took my first lead trad fall on my gear on this climb. Was glad to tick it clean before we left.

Henry enjoyed this so much he climbed it twice. Georgia climbed it too.

Good combo of jamming and jug rails. Got to use my Ocun crack climbing gloves for the first time since getting them for Valentine’s Day.

Very fun

Trickier than I expected for a 17

It's an 18 if you're under 5'6" as my partner found out. Very high feet with a very long reach to jugs (could hardly reach myself and I'm 6'3"), otherwise it's like a V1 boulder problem.

Super reachy moves to crimps with no good feet. I couldn't onsight this and I climb 20-23.

Warmup

Could do the whole climb using the bolts on Shady Retreat

Easier than the description suggests

Some bolt plates fell out of Kath's chalk bag after doing SS...gave me a good excuse to run up this one!

Draws in already.

Doesn't have 2 bolts unless you're counting the anchors! Lead it up to the start of the easy headwall but I was expecting another bolt there and was a bit too alarmed to climb further. Tried to downclimb and just ended up falling instead.

The 3 of us who tried had to aid through the moves next to the first bolt, they seemed a lot harder than 19, maybe a crucial hold has worn down? The rest of it was easy though.

This is assuming the right hand wall is in.
