Ascensiones en High Fells

Fun climb! Crazy how much better the quality of rock is compared to Mellon Collie which is right next to it.

Lot's of holds to choose from. Almost bailed on the topout as it was wet (I should have checked) but I committed and used whatever dry patches there were. Also might redo as my sit start was a bit suspect. Was expecting to try some moves first but ended up doing the entire thing.

Quite nice! Will come back when I have more time as I only had enough time for one attempt. Almost did the rockover then I kicked myself off.

Sharp in parts, and wet in others.

Difficult moves for the top-out, but quite fun.

Quality moves which demand a little more finger-skin than I had!

Biffed the flash with a foot slip half way

Rocked up a little late.. plenty of time stealing beta, while warming up, lead to a straight forward flash

First v5! Took a second to nail the moves far out right. Fixed feet, and a desperate beached top out for the send!

Feels a bit like someone stole a boulder from a better crag and lost it here. Finally a climb with nice moves that doesn't seem like it's about to fall apart!

Very good quality rock and movement for the area.

Assumed a sit start. The described sidepull seems to have flaked off - perhaps stiffer (and more interesting?) as a result

Feels very close to going.

Couldn't commit to the top out. Rest of the climb is fun but burly.

Went quickly this time. Some fun moves.

Surprised myself by getting very close to sending this. Fun and tricky. Deserves the stars.

Deserves a star. A good fight to top out.

Slab of the week

Two stars might sell this a little bit short. In the context of Mt Alex, I think this is a classic line and one of the better slab problems I've encountered.
