Ascensiones en South East como First ascent

Took us 2 days and some whipper's was done yoyo with ambor and Mason much credit to Ambor and Mason Who styled it !

Good lead by Joe! With many no fall zones and some nasty rooten rock. There are some really excellent sections of climbing followed by some really shit sections of climbing.

Was going for The Prow, but chickened out & went up this line instead. Turns out I was miles away from The Prow, but this line offered quite nice rock & moves. Worth a couple of stars in my books. I loved the move around the bulge 2/3 way up.

Didn't see the huge block/flake till I got up there, pretty scary stuff. But nice offwidth, got to use my Bigbro #4 for the first time.

Pretty chossy & friable rock. The chimney had some interesting moments tho. Dave 2nded.

2nd route of the day. Like the 1st, a hard start - the rest of the route would be 9-10. Quite vegetated at the start, but offers reasonable rock all up.

Dave thought 15, I thought 13, so we split the difference. Very nice nice moves on the flake/corner once past all the vines & s**t.

Had the whole cliff to choose from, this looked the most do-able. 4 blocks came off, one football size, had Dan & Dave running. Dave 2nded.

The leaning, low-angle pillar, and wide shaft behind. The delicate crux is on the slabby pillar (no pro), so don't fall off! The first ascent was soloed onsight with a rope trailed for the second.

Not much more room for new routes that go up. So we go sideways.

Starts 1m L of arete. Up thin weakness to break (cam). Short smooth section (crux with a FH) then overhung juggy top. Belay off chains a way back.

Big dyno out into space. Woo!

Freed the aid through the roof for the first free ascent.

Some chossy bits, some good bits and some don’t fall bits.

A worthy pitch, even on its own.

Really good through the overhangs. Thin traverse.

Airy and scarey. Use long draws under the blocks.

Soloed in disgust after some cretin stole my rope off Crack of dawn!

My first aid route.

Figured the arete would need to go, so I ventured out there for the first time, making a great variant start to Big Top and Send in the Clowns. Good exposure and nice moves up the arete. Good gear. Lots of air!
