A historical french crag (1930?) with a huge load of routes in the 5th and 6th grade. Due to the type of rock the climbing style is very (old school and) specific . A must if you stay in this region !
Very kids friendly (flat base with constant shade from the huge trees from the forest behind). Most routes are between 30m and 40m. The name of the route is often written down at the bottom so it is super easy to find out where you are Equipment is super safe but those who use to climb in modern crags only could be sometimes surprised by the distance between bolts (...3m ....4m .....5m) and some sections can be exposed. First bolts are often very high up and bringing a clip stick is a good idea.
The local French Alpin Club (CAF) maintains the crag and equipment. They published a new version of the Topo Guide in 2014 and it is a good idea to support their work by buying it. It can be bought at the Tourism Office in Nolay, but not only.
Drive to Cormot Le Petit, take Rue des Vaches which is a steep kinda road towards the free (but limited) car park : https://goo.gl/maps/UfEPSW937Ss4LX487
From the car park, take the large path towards the main crag (10 min)
Park where indicated, take care of the environment, buy the local guidebook when possible (this is one of the ways you can help local route setters), clean up your shoes before climbing, don't spray beta, be polite.
