Fell at the very top mantle

Delicate start. I had a solid attempt but went to the wrong anchor which was on sight from the last bolt, then got pumped when I tried to correct the course.

Glad to finally get this tricky little bugger clean

that topping out mantle always gets me.

Went to the elast bolt, but cannot finish it. The last part is slopy and no foot hold

Onsight attempt. Hung after clipping last bolt. Moonboard session yesterday seems to have stolen my small crimp endurance and I hung around too long.

Easy #2ndgo once I knew where to go for the slopey top-out.

I enjoyed this one. Plenty of nice crimps to get up this. I thought at bit soft for the grade. Plenty of bolts too!

Too relaxed on this one and found the crux after the last bolt. Called a take instead of reaching for the big jug

Nice but quite soft. I think it is more like 19 as stated in Rock Deluxe South. I didn’t clip the last bolt because it was in an awkward position and the anchor was just beyond.

Warm up. Had forgotten the sequence from my onsight attempt last time we were down in Christchurch and my fingers were numb from the cold. One hang.

Red point. Easy after I had remembered the sequence. Even with cold fingers. 2nd attempt of the day, third overall.

Really nice line! The 20 at Cattlestop yesterday re-taught me to just charge my ass through the pumpy bulgey stuff :> Got nice kneebar for clipping 4th or 5th bolt. Sloper top out = thrills 😎

This is a 21 in the guide and I agree that it is ~1 grade hardee than What R U Reckon (20). Only because of the nasty couple of crimps you must use getting up to the bulge (3rd to 4th bolt, so yes it is a short crux but still). Just be brave and move quickly 🦸‍♀️ #2ndgo
