Ascents by Cameron Semple having Distinct route

First time at The Pavilion. First pitch had some awesome flowy climbing. Second was a real adventure through some improbable terrain.

Pretty happy to get this today. Such an amazing climb and my first trad climb at the grade. If you’re going to have half a day at frog in two years, this was a good way to spend it.

Stoked to get this! Proper fight right from the ground. Milking the rests for all they were worth. Quote of the day from the crowd of bushwalkers watching the whole thing: “He’s only 2 metres from the top, why doesn’t he just finish it”. Thanks for the patient belay Chris.

Felt like I snuck up on this one today. After work session on a beautiful evening. Jumped straight on, went way better than expected, back home in time for dinner and tv on the couch. 👍

So stoked! Such a classic line and right on my current limit, making it a really satisfying send. Super pumped and nearly peeled off, but milked the rests so hard.

Stunning. Happy to get this clean on second first shot.

Long and intimidating. Some committing layback sections and a real cruxy roof.

Short and awesome

Stunning! Probably my favourite climb of the trip. Annoyed that I messed up a nut placement on the first pitch and sat. Way better climbing than it looks. Second pitch was just glorious. What kind of voodoo keeps that block at the top of the second sitting on that ledge! Terrifying.

Martin did a good job on the first pitch in the rain. Strenuous bulge before the belay. I nearly barfed trying to deal with the V-groove above. It just wants to spit you out the whole way.

Happy to onsight the bottom bouldery start, but messed up the tight hands sections but higher. One fall.

One hang

Stunning corner crack to the ledge. The moves above this lived up to their reputation and more.

Found the direct start hard. The climb overall was amazing.

Nice change of scene at Frog. Excellent face moves. The entire top third of the pillar is held together by magic.

Hard! Add a grade with the moisture currently in it. Great lead by Martin in the conditions.

Amazing finale to our week at Araps. Paul put in an awesome effort on lead. I couldn't keep it together through the roof and had to prussic back to the rock.

So good! Seconded Rach in the dark. Heartbreaking top corner!

Finally had a crack at this. Made it to the first good hold, but didn’t hit it well and spooged off in slow motion. One to come back to for sure.

Fun technical route. Would be an interesting lead. One hang.

Pretty mega. Solid climbing at the grade in an array of styles in an intimidating position down low on the cliff. Had a couple of sits to clear my mind and the pump. Finished up Syncopate for the second pitch.

Way more enjoyable than I thought it would be (on second ). Top section was pretty nails hard. Brilliant, ballsy lead by Tom with limited big gear.

Bailed at the top of the third due to getting late and forgetting to bring torches.

Bloody hard between the third and fourth bolt. Gave up after a few whips each. Free biner on the third bolt if anyone wants it.
