Ascents climbed between 2021-00-00 and 2030-12-31 by Vanessa Wills having Trad CPR

Hadn’t really looked at guide. Great moves to a literal nails crux but I think I could do it, though I was doing a karate kick to the right after matching on the thin rail. Sticking the thin rail was the only move I didn’t do.

P3 only. Not sure if it’s the morning weeding or just decrepitude, but did quite abysmally. Had a police boat zip in to investigate for some reason. Will be falcon closure time soon, but no problems today.

Combined this with Drayton ( mainly because I abseiled too far). Tricky technical climbing

P2 and3 , got through the first half of P2 to the mantle, then faded towards end. P3 start is dire, then gnarly finger crack that will be tricky on lead

Got to half way mantle clean and almost got through it it, then easy to the crimp crux and faded on the top third again.

Delicate and technical, my beta is quite different to Dave’s due to reach differences. Just have to remember it.... it involves going further right and a small foot pebble.

The Heberdens nodules are making thin cracks tricky. I used to like them. Ended up going up LLL and stepping across when I could finally bridge. Shoulder not happy. Heatstroke. Definitely despairing and feel like carrion feast.

FFA. Unless someone else wants to claim it, spotted this line last year, it took way too much skin and climbing days (3) but finally got the 3 sequences linked(success rate after figuring out the moves 70% first, 20% second, 30% third). Not that keen on having an accident on Flinders, so led it with 3 bits of gear- red C3, small wire, purple C3 and one more red C3 to top out.

Maybe only 24, but we weren’t placing gear on lead. Great fun. A direct start looks possible which would definitely be 25. Well protected but could feel fiddly on an onsight attempt.

Tried this once before years ago, still feels outrageously hard and reachy. I can get to good hold under roof with effort. Seeing the 24 to the left is so straightforward this maybe should be 26? Way harder than 97%MF

Well the start and end were good, suspect some rope assistance through the low crux and the upper one needed more work. Spent some time brushing someone else’s excessive chalk and tick marks- lest anyone think it was us, but it needs a good shower to clean it off. Will have to get fitter and return

great day with some stunning climbing. Had a rest on P2 . Thought the route could be renamed chalk is cheap given the excess! Back to the van before the rain

Exploring options for a rebolt. Nice climbing, shame about the rock. Second go after a bit= a lot of brushing.

We needed to tire ourselves out quickly, that was the plan, and i have never quite figured this one out. Some super long moves. I solved one, with bunched beta, but my short beta for the second move to the blob on the arete is low percentage

To sort bolt placements. Rebolted.

Gave the rebolt a whirl. A 0.75 needed above last bolt. One of the easier 24 s at MF, nice moves. The direct start awaits.

FFA. Team FFA, amazing what a bit less humidity can do. Interesting to compare our sequences which were quite different, especially on the left traverse. Worth the long walk from killiecrankie instead of Docks forachange

Not as good as the original, the traverse right to join BB is best done quickly on a low spooge day

Second go today, put some gear in, managed to hang on despite muffing sequence

A good way to exhaust ourselves before/ as the rain hit with a couple of runs on this. Shame about the ledges.

FFA. Great slab moves, through a Rooflet, a slab Dyno and then a nice finger crack.

FFA. Dave and I had quite different beta, esp for the top. Reachy but possible.

Rpt, definitely find this as tricky as Easy meat. No snakes today.

Two snakes and one sit, I get through the crux and have problems getting onto slab….should come back and lead it this winter, but the trad placements are a little tricky

3 laps, two of them clean. The plan was to improve the style but the 3 snakes 2 m below the anchor in the horizontal crack, and the fact I forgot the wires, and the unforecast shower were the excuses not to lead it today

Rpt, sussing wires. We didn’t have enough with us.

Double ropes, placed all the gear on lead, I did suss the #3 RP placements before hand, but had to problem solve a fair bit due to the fact that the gear fills some of the better holds. Quite pleased, there’s a few run outs and some of the gear placements are fairly blind, now I can just enjoy top roping it in future!

I just couldn’t make Dave’s beta work, though he used mine! A good bouldery problem but the move into the upper left hand crack was very frustrating for me.

Lead it with a couple of falls, then top roped a couple of times. Can do it clean with my umbilicus at first bolt, but starting off the ladder is a touch too low for me to get established and very finger skin destroying so it wasn’t worth more time. Lovely moves on flakes and lots of gear. Generously bolted.

FFA. Grade from the exit traverse, though good moves from the start. The linking traverse done low is kinder IMO having done them both, as the gear post traverse feels better. But the upper line is good too.

I am pretty sure I belayed the FA of this a decade ago and declined to do it due to skin and reach. I was obviously more sensible back then. Everything today felt quite spoogy. This took a few more goes than it should have for the first 4 metres. I just kept sliding off the hold at the end of the crux next to the wire placement. It’s really a direct start to Psalm 69

Had forgotten pretty much everything from a couple of years ago, but managed it second shot today. Worth a lead this trip. A bit of a hidden gem

One sit. The route finding isn’t obvious. We went right then up then left then right! Double ropes would be useful

Gah. Came off at end of undercling section. Definitely not the first to do that. I did second this clean about 12 years ago, but I had forgotten everything…

A bit tired and sore skin and shoulder after 2 days at Nowra, but cleaning the house can only take up so much time. Fell off a few things due to not concentrating on sequence. Pretty cold and windy.

A quick lap, in borrowed shoes. Pretty thin

One brief foot misstep, felt pretty good otherwise. The usual brown tree snake just below anchors. It didn’t move.

Nice but suffered from being climbed on when wet a couple of days ago.

We had to leave before we led this. Climbs quite nicely

Piked at lateral dyno but did the rest.

Reacquainting myself with this beauty. Forgotten how I did the crux, the rest slowly came back to me.

Another great tricky and technical stemming route. Finishes at second sharks Fin belay via hand crack. Starts level with SF start at single bolt, where Zorro heads right. Linking Zorro start into this is an awesome 45 m route

Climbed out. Fell off move to arete and ended back at starting ledge.

All clean with lots of microbeta remembered- except one move of crux sequence.

Painful and not appealing

I had to divert back into holiday after falling off the thin finger crux to make upward progress then moved right again. The stalactite feature was amazing but vibrates.

Thanks to whomever put in the new anchors since I was last here. This I think is my favourite route in the gorge. Got here a bit late, and it was damn hot, so had a single go to reacquaint myself, with one slip on the lower part, then time to go packrafting the Gorge!

A couple of rests remembering the sequence post footer breakage

Rpt to clean. 2 snakes visible but neither impacting the route. Required a few rests, was hot in the sun.

2 sits, better friction than last week. Worth it to get john Wilde back in the saddle

Led pitches 1,3,5 all clean. P2 clean. The crux pitch, did all moves free but needed a few ( quite a few) rests. The God of death, that’s how you feel after doing the 45 m overhanging hand crack. Mega classic.

Had to redeem myself for the slip on Fin crack
