Minor adventure at the end of the day with huge packs, topping out in the dark.

Challenging route finding on P1 and the start of P2, with the belay in an odd spot. After that, cruise home on jugs past the deluxe belay ledge for P3.

Afternoon adventure with heavy packs to avoid the walk out. Over shot the first belay, spotted it and had to be lowered back to it! Look closely at the photo topo. Route is awesome, especially at sunset. The wind is amazing and the huge ledge is magic, all the wind dies out there and you can hear weird echoes. OS P1, Second P2, Second P3.

Pleasant climbing throughout. Take a single rack of cams and lots of bolt plates.

Team epic hunters who weren't looking for any epics whatsoever (reason they choose this climb) ended up having almost an epic.

Pitch 3 'Scary moves off the cave' says the description on thecrag. Felt very very scary and very very hard for a 15, but we were like 'old school climbing, it is what it is'. Apparently we were on Shock and Awe's last pitch (graded 23), really good classic climbing none the less. Comrade with a busted shoulder had an epic mechanical aiding the roof, then prussiking up while being assisted on a failing hauling system.

At the roof, Don't follow the ring bolts, take the non-epic option of carrots further to the left.

First pitch - the bolt is out to the right off the block. Once clipped, traverse along with either small cams, or a number 4 and number 5. Quite easy but this route favours taller climbers.

Second pitch - started following another party but incorrectly went up the left wall. Don't do this. From the first bolt, pull onto left wall and go up only around 2 metres then back to the right-hand wall. Follow the line of carrots diagonally right and up. Not much pro needed as there are plenty of bolts.

Third pitch - from the 2 carrots on the left, keep traversing around. The next bolt is super close and easy to clip before heading scarily out onto the overhang. Fortunately the climbing is quite easy and this pitch also is mostly sport bolted. Belayed off tree (10 metres back) and the single bolt near the lip.

Bit of a false start as going right from the carrot seemed a bit hard and slippery (the sun in my eyes might not have been helping). Retreated and went straight up and a bit left through some poor rock to the HD mark, so I guess then I was doing the first pitch of Hands Down instead. Third pitch I tried to do some bouldering when just going a bit left is much easier.

Led P1; basically one long traverse on easy breaks; only three cams (incl. #4) and tree needed.

Next pitch Sean went all the way up the corner instead of following the carrots so we missed out on P2 and P3 . The carrots head R near the bush 2m up the corner!

Slightly chossy and fragile rock but wonderfully varied climbing and great exposure. Third pitch is a bit of a runout on just carrots, especially since I missed the last one before the topout - FYI it's just above the last ledge, to the left of the empty bolthole from a previous rebolting. I saw the empty hole, assumed the carrot had fallen out, and just gunned it for the top. Whoops 😅

1st pitch: felt easy. slightly pumpy at the beginning. 2nd pitch: Felt harder. A bit reachy. Used more cams and totems at the start. Traverse a bit scary. 3rd pitch: a bit scary to start but great feet n and hands all the way up. Money pitch for exposure.

Good belay stations. Use the carrots above 2nd pitch as top belay to avoid drag. It’s on the over hang to the left.

Awesome experience with a bit of everything. ‘Why walk when you can climb out?’ A late decision to send led to cold fingers while wicked winds threatened to throw us off. The name is accurate! But we persevered, dropped a bolt plate (the carrots stick out unecessarily) and made it to the giant cave for a beautiful sunset! Leaving P3 at twilight heightened the already exciting exit out of the cave, but was worth it, not least because we failed to bring head torches (typical). Next time will bring less bags and less gear - just need a few small cams for P1, a small wire and maybe a #3 for P2

Ended up catching friends at top of P1 and had to help them rescue some gear when they went up the wrong way for P2 . So ended up being a little bit of a mega trying to help recover there gear and save them an even bigger day. All gear recovered and everyone safe tho so big success!

With Caitlyn, Jack and Tinam with a brief feature from Robin and Kristie.

Pleasant climb, cool position and comfy belays! Led all the pitches as it was just the most straight forward way with our party.

P1: Easy traverse, cams in breaks. P2: Quite the awkward move into the corner, rest is straight forward. Some gear down low and up high. P3: Cool exposed start, jug haul. Put in two pieces, just because I could!
