Ascents in Fruehauf

Like playing the lottery. Some times the stars align, but more often than not you’re left sad, dejected and reeling in a lump on the ground.

Top roped it first to work out moves. Had a few burns was scared and pumped myself out on first lead attempt. Foot slipped next attempt, got it next go. Pretty stoked with result!

No skin attempt to put up the draws for Jordan. Took some stupidly big whips trying to get to the last draw which was fun. But also this is some reachy bullshit omg

Finally sent it!

Deffs worth going down the stairs and adding the boulder start, also deffs worth having a go at the onsight.

Hard for a warm up

Last climb of the day, Honestly went up this thinking it would be a hang dog, but ended up getting through it even after all the other climbs. Think this will be the best day on the crag yet

Hands too cold on the flash go, second go felt like a float and took a very large victory whip. So happy to get a 25 second go. Classic for the crag

Proved the early onset dementia wrong and remembered my beta this time. It did require a go on TR first to dial in and then gave it a hot crack second go on lead.

After losing so much skin on “Gun Ho” the heinous start crimp finished off my tips and had to shamefully retreat. Took a battering to the skin and the ego the last couple of days…

Basically aid climbed the first 3 bolts with a stick clip! Made all the moves but a lot of them just feel too low percentage to link. Sacrificed so much skin too!

Bit reachy and a bit sandy, probably way harder if you’re shorter.

Weird mantly ledgy thing. Not sure I’d do that again tbh.

Tried going left at the top instead of straight up, which blew the onsight. Not a fan of the first 2 bolts, but interesting after that.

Very tricky as an onsight. Feels hard on the first attempt, easy afterwards.

Start dyno is bullshit. Rest of the climb is alright. Last route of the day, so maybe I was tired (probably just weak though)

Really rinsed the moves and got my moneys worth on working the top bulge crux. Swigging 2/3rds a bottle of Rose had me feeling real confident having me believe I could go for the send second go. Reality set in after not being able to clip the second draw. More Rose was still drunk afterwards.

Struggled to work through crux, had to make some reachy moves.

Messed up crux at start, sent it second attempt.

Foot slipped on first move, weighted the rope like 10cm of the ground, lowered to the ground then sent well raging. Actually one of the better routes here, just pissed I dropped an easy onsight.

Also a rock climb.

Putting the draws on for Caz, nice lil climb.

Great climb, need new pants now due to exciting bolting.

Deffo start from bottom for most of the fun. Most enjoyable climb at the crag for me, mix of styles and cool moves.

Chuck yourself around on slopey holds, take big whips and be relieved to get top.

Dancing shoes needed! Grade condensed into few moves, nice techy moves though

Ledgy, easy going. Kinda scary at the top feels like you smash into ledge

Minging start, fell while establishing then went to the anchor second attempt. Crux was foiled but a cheeky fingerlock so thank God for trad climbing

Untick, but not too badly.

Warm up lap. Climbed pretty poorly but got it done.
