Ascents in The Shady Side

Quite dirty needs a going over with a wire brush. Cool technical climbing that I was really psyched on until I hit the break above the 5th bolt expecting to find a jug instead it was a sloper so I bailed, had it been a good hold I would’ve been more inspired to keep at it.

In the rain, top 3rd of the crack was very wet, made for a good challenge had to work for it

Cruisy and a bit awkward.

What a great little climb. Pumped out 2/3rds up on the onsight. Went easy next go on the top rope but didn’t have enough light for the next lead burn. Next try!

Been wanting to do this one for a while, so I'm glad it went down after a long hiatus from climbing.

First time on lead on this climb - so fun!

Surprisingly good climbing. Nice to do with long pants on.

Awesome route. Did a silly and put myself in a precarious position trying to get the second piece in, with the crowds gathering to watch me deck. Much to their disappointment, I sagged onto my hurriedly placed nut, lowered to the ground, then went up again with a micro cam to add to it, and then launched up to victory. Disappointed I couldn't make it an onsight, but so it goes. Packs a sweet punch for a short route.

Not physically or mentally taxing, but hard in a strange way. At the crux, before you know it, you’re hanging in your harness. You get peeled off the top like a bug on a windshield. Was some sick climbing though.

Had fun being a top rope tough guy and tour guide for the day. Will keep trying it tho.

First Trad 25!! Bloody pearly of a spot for warm summer days, fantastic moves and super easy to work. What a stunner!

Super fun route, never managed to send it on TR but got it on lead after 4 tries. Stoked to belay ol’ Sammy short rope on his first 25.

first for the grade on trad. a couple of laps on top rope ended in an almost successful first lead attempt. same result on the second attempt and didn't have energy left for third one. came back a few weeks later and sent it first go after a TR warm up. didn't feel too hard or desperate with all the beta dialled. milk that after-crux jug for as much as you can and you shouldn't have a problem with the remaining sequence.

Pulled all the moves surprisingly, would probably go if I worked it

top roped it about 5 or 6 times in the beginning because i had to but eventually started to like it and got all moves and rests etc. one crux move still abit stretchy for me

Best to place some pro to get to the first bolt. Bit sketchy otherwise.

one top rope a month ago, one this morning, then a pink then red. My favorite climb in the gorge so far.
