Seti Devi High Rock
Seti Devi High Rock Bouldering spot is discovered officially in 23rd December 2017 by the enthusiast Nepalese climbers team of Yogesh Gurung, Sangam KC, Prakash Gurung, Nar Bahadur Asthani, Ashish Gurung and Pasang Rumba. This site has variety of climbing routes grades from 5+ to 9+. It lies in North West of Kathmandu valley in Tarkeshhwor Municipality of Kathmandu district. The beautiful rock climbing site is easily accessed by local bus and private vehicles which is next to the road. It takes half an hour ride from Balaju, Bypass, which is approximately 8 km away from Thamel. It serves through the way up to Tarkeshwor Temple exciting hiking inside Shivapuri national park. At the height of Paanch Maane, there is also lovely place for camping in open ground viewing Kathmandu valley or can stay in Homestay near the lap of beautiful Bhuwaneshwori Temple. Video. |

Shivapuri Hill
Shivapuri hill is located to the north of Kathmandu. It is 12 km far from Kathmandu. This is the valley’s second highest hill from where one can view of Ganesh Himal (7,111 m),Langtang Lirung (7,245 m),and Dorje Lakpa (6,966 m). The granite faced slope has different spots to crawl up but the central big cliff is the most challenging. One has to be equipped for this. It is 8 km to Budhanilkantha from Kathmandu, where we can go by bus. We can see the reclining Vishnu in the pond, a Hindu/ Buddhist pilgrimage center. Then Hiking up from there, can be reached to the military camp. After this, we go up following the gravelled road inside the forest. We reach to the Nagi Gompa, a local monastery on the top. This is the nice view point for the valley view and the hill to see in the South. After few kilometers towards Tare Bhir, we can see the black stone steep cliff hanging from the road which is the climbing spot. Another interesting rock wall is located on the slope of Shivapuri hill to the north of Kathmandu. To get there by way of taxi or bus to Budhailkantha (9km), the shrine of the slumbering Bishnu, then stroll west from the bus quit the Bishnumati movement thru terraced fields and enters the Shivapuri National Park. Situated to the north of Kathmandu, the Shivapuri rock climbing wall is another interesting rock wall in Kathmandu. Approximately 9 KM drive to Budhailkantha, (Reclining Visnu Sharing ) and then walk west to the Vishnumati stream through terraced fields and enters the Shivapuri Watershed and Wildlife reserve. A big cliff in the center is equipped with routes. |
