Ascents of Snowflake

Crux had me confounded! Really liked the sequence once I found it.

Gets a star for the position, but not my jam.

Backed out 3 times on the crux before figuring it out, and i think it’s probably a bit tough at the grade

Great climbing before and after the crux, the crux feels just hard for the grade. Next time with climbing shoes. Barefoot accent.

Bailed on it as I killed my rope on a fall.

More long fun.. Paul had talked about a nails crux move, thankfully long arms help.. The tops sand roof isn't great but finishes the route nicely.

No crux gecko today.

3rd Shot. I found the crux of this hideously nails due to my height, necessitating a shoulder-busting powerful iron-cross maneuverer. The upper roof was complicated by the "crux lizard" (a leaf-tailed gecko) that did not want to leave the crucial mid-roof hold, and had a propensity to bite anyone who's hands strayed too close. The lower section (to the crux) is great, sustained climbing, and the finishing roof is entertaining thugging.
