Ascents in Heathcliff as Onsight

This was friggin hard! Probably harder, more sustained and better than the other 22s here. Scraped in for the onsight at the end of the day.

1st move of P1 is the hardest! The 22 pitch is pretty cruisy, except for the fact that it was cold in this winter morning :p

Some extenders and skipping some bolts makes this a beautiful single pitch!

Abseiled back down after climbing Bodicea to try this. Milarepa is a better finish than Bodicea's 2nd pitch.

A quick jaunt before the sun hit, has cleaned up well with traffic. Led P2, have led P 3 previously. First pitch not bolted well for a wobbly seconder I would say

Lead and linked the first two pitches, didn't bother with the third.

Lovely climb, interesting start.

Hmmm. Got a bit lost and ended up (possibly) putting a variant route up with Jonny. 2nd pitch, start up but traverse right at break at around 4m through heavy choss and terrible gear (lol) to make a bolt and small cam belay a few metres into Thing 2 Pitch 2. Bit of an adventure! Blast up from there as a P3 (20).

Lead all pitches, for Fil's first multi. Great introduction to multi pitching. Second pitch is awesome, with great features. Hardest moves are on the slab at the very beginning, on the first pitch...

Thought this was Chip Off The Old Block and it felt hard at 19

Great fun, although there seems to be a trend of put anchors back on ledges here, causing ropes to be dragged over edges...

Good fun! Crux seems to be the same for both of these 22, at the bottom. At least this one has a bit of a move up higher.

Good but not great. Pretty much over after the start, mostly jugs.

This was the pick of the 3 22s today. Love the crux up the flake and funky undercling move up higher. Did all three of these back to back, with no rest to beat the rain to the car. Got pissed on for the last few hundred meters though

Absolutely brilliant climbing- among the best 22's in the mountains. A BD #3 is useful to protect a modest runout if this is at your limit.
