Ascents in The Nest

This is one of those routes not to confuse easy grading with suitability for beginners. True old school run-out feel and crappy rock (although not as bad as Dream Machine in either aspect). Can protect the belayer with medium-large cams if worried about the drop-off behind

Right most bolted route. Lower offs.

Harder moves down low, up to and passed second bolt. Once youre on the headwall youre finished.

This was a great route but easy for the grade. Only maybe getting off the ground was 17.

Nice climb after backing off the 22.

Fun climb

Probably the best climb I did all day. Had some fun moves in it.

Hard then easy.

Terrible rope twist and uninspiring climbing. Anchor needs some rings

Decided to be fancy and try do a block for single strand rap on grigri, but foolishly clipped the block back to the loaded strand, due to the jank anchor setup twists started propagating down strands during pull down - saved only by bernard lower off the 8 next door.

Left anchor is GIMB with removable pfh hanger and a small ?6mm mallion.

Really nice moves.

I managed to pull through, but once again nasty crimps on painful shitty ironstone. Only one hard move then generic slabbing on loose ironstone.

The bit that differs from weasel words is interesting and commiting. Worth doing. We went back and unclipped the first two bolts to remove horrendous rope drag.

Not bad. A bit generic, but nice position.
