Toward the top of a ~15m runout I transition to the (wet) slab and make my way toward the tree (banksia...sick). As I pull over the lip I notice a rather large python eyeing me down some 10cm from my face, in front of the anchor. In this instance I opted to extend the anchor to a fun hanging situation in case our friend felt introverted. I then proceeded to belay up my three partners to join me in this predicament.

P.S I would've downclimbed had I not put a microtrax in halfway to protect the second simulers

Three stars.

probably my slowest lead to date, taking a little over an hour... thanks Daniel Butler for the very patient belay.

Interesting climbing on rock of not-super-inspiring quality, but decent enough protection for the length of the route.

Very old school, but a classic!

Fun chimneying especially up near the chockstones. Took recommended rack but only ended up using single cams to #5. May have missed some horizontal breaks while placing too many wires up the back, which may be why I had horrible rope drag by the end. Don't be me.

A 70m gets you down on stretch if you aim off the right side (facing in) to a ledge a metre above the track (and if you use the sling & maillon on the tree).

If you’re mad enough to enjoy chimneys then this is a spectacular climb. Definitely not 16. Much easier than Dark Side. Good gear the whole way. Just a shame it doesn’t keep going.

A super fun adventure. Great gear the whole way. Make sure you look for the glory hole at 15m up.
