Pitch 2 - (second) nice sustained climbing to top of second pitch, most enjoyable pitch. Pitch 3 - (dog) loads of loose rock needs more serious cleaning. Two big jugs look as tho they will not last much longer. One burst on my first attempt. Belayer beware! |

Its an interesting climb. We used a 0.5 camalot before the first to make things more pleasant. The second pitch is probably the pick. The third has a cool feature but the rock quality is a little low, but you get that. I'm not sure if the crux hold has disappeared, but it seemed considerably harder than 21...

We were planning on climbing "Banished For Infidelity" but ended up getting on this due to poor route identification skills and an out of date guidebook. The first pitch seems extremely difficult; I had to dog through the crux. I'm guessing the fixed hangers to the right are an easier variant start? The second and third pitch, which I got clean, are really cool with good movement. It's a shame the crux hold on the third seems like it could crumble away at any moment.

Fantastic day out and agree with Ryan's sentiments that this is a contender for the best multi on the moutain. Consistent quality throughout. The second pitch does wander a little bit to stay protected and is definitely heady but I thoroughly enjoyed the lead and the climb overall. The crux move of the climb is a solid 21 and the crux on the 4th pitch must be one of the best moves on Tibro. A must do for any climber who enjoys a little adventure

We launched up the R leaning crack on the white rock up the R side of this line thinking it was Patience Crack. I did think it was mightily stiff for 15. After whipping onto some surprisingly good gear and then discovering that there was no second pitch that vaguely resembled the description in the guide we came to suspect that we were off route. After we got back to ground level (who doesn't love lead downclimbing ) we discovered the 12 inch high painted 'P' at the base of Patience Crack.
So does anyone have any FA details of that big white wide to hands crack, often wet, seeps, feels about 20ish? |

Typical Tibro: route finding challenges, solid rock mixed with choss, bolts and a lack thereof. If I were to do the climb again, I might stop after pitch 4 and rap, as this makes for a more sustained and continuous line.

Following in the footsteps of others before us, we ended up on this pitch by accident, while climbing Remains of the Day. Grace led P1 of Remains and then wanted to link up to P2 but went too far right to P2 of Phoenix. Solid lead by Grace (on this pitch) considering all the rope drag while clipping!
I really enjoyed this pitch. It had some nice moves and also mostly positive handholds (flakes etc.)which was a relief after P1 of Remains. Not sure about the rock quality on this pitch and whether I would have felt happy leading it. It got a bit steep near the top and so I came off once, just before the end. I was meant to lead P3 (of what we thought was the third pitch of ROTD) but we thought it looked a bit hard so luckily Grace went for it. We thought it was a bit tough for a 16 and I guess that's probably because it was a 21! Grace almost finished it though but we ended up rapping back down and getting back onto P2 of ROTD. |

Accidentally linked P2 with the start of Remains of the Day. Whoops!
I started up P3 and after having to fight through the crux it became apparent that this was either the worst sandbag ever or we were off route. I lowered down a bit to review the terrain and eventually another party, who leapfrogged us on ROTD, called out that we should be 15m to the left. I was worried about time (and partly couldn't be arsed climbing the 21 again to clean the route), so we pulled the rope from the highest quickdraw and rapped back to the top of P1, ROTD.
There were some really cool moves up through steep rock and two shallow chimney features. Would be keen to come back and climb this whole route properly. |

Tried to climb Banished, couldn't find it - ended up on this guy instead. The third pitch it worth the price of admission.

Thought we were on Remains Of The Day until we realised pitch 3 was a bit too steep for a 16 and didn't really match the route description. Traversed right at the end of the middle slab on pitch 3, up along the crack taking care to avoid loose and wet moss. Ended up somewhere around the top of Patience Crack. Up through some shrub to top out into the caves sector. Took a nice shaded breather in Cave 5 for lunch before descending down the Caves Route.

every pitch is a test for the grade. epic climbing. there is still some loose rock on pitch three after all these years. And maybe we should think about removing the small boulder at pitch two.?? thoughts??

Probably one of the hardest 17s you'll do (pitch 1). Probably really a 20.
