What a beast of a wall route. Really good. Looks intimidating but it's safe and good value. FH's on p1 and all rings on p2. [2]

Repeat. Moderate, up to a weird stemming move which would certainly be easier if you're tall.

Could not have come any closer to falling on the final moves and still staying on. Fingers were uncurling on the last moves up the techy blunt arete. Pretty sensational route. [2]

Super proud-looking line and a worthy climb.

The slab has one of the smallest holds I've ever used in rockclimbing. That's just mental. No like!

I really liked this one! Seriously cool dynamic throw, a hard facey bit, a bit of corner thrown in.

This had a super stumper crux move. Took about 10 minutes of head scratching to solve.

Pretty cool! Airy second pitch for sure in several places; exposure plus. Well worth doing. Sneakers.

Steep start, not really the easy warm up you're looking for, then romping jug slab to final tricky move before anchor.

Great rock on this one and well worth doing. A deceptively tricky move down low.

Just squeaked it in, absolutely the hardest thing I could do on the predictably terrible first climbing day back from a trip. Psyched to do this as I've always looked at it and thought it looked rad. And it is! [3]

Impressive-looking compact orange wall. Climbs pretty well, even though it's not very direct through the crux. Great place to be on an arctic windy day.

Pretty good. Probably one of the better routes at New York. #2 or #3 camalot would come in handy.

There's a nice direct start coming up directly under the first bolt.

The eucalypt at the base of this route is probably the biggest I have ever seen. It's stunning!

Tricky start, then pumpy.

Historic, hard power endurance established by George Feig 21 years ago. While holds and grades have come and gone, this remains a true testpiece. Came close 4 years ago, redemption today. [7]

Repeat. This diminutive little route felt really hard.

I'd been thinking about this route since its intriguing description in the old Pircher guidebook. The enormous bottomless chimney ended up climbing quite differently than you might imagine, requiring a fusion of old-school and new-school techniques. We cleaned it a LOT so it's ready for a flurry of ascents, lol. [3]

Two routes in one split by a sit. Both cruxes are huge rockovers; the first powerful, the second delicate. Akimbo holds + 66% humidity = skin punishment. [4]

Great to do this in an express after-work session. Run in - team send - stumble out. [2]

The crux move on this felt utterly impossible last time. I couldn't touch it -- harder than any other individual move I've done at The Pit. Emil declared that it's 27 because you struggle first up, and then punch it out on your next go. I scoffed; and was mentally prepared to let my draws get sun bleached during the protracted siege to come. Then I did it first try today. Don't argue with Emil. [2]

Jump, catch, swing, don't break shoulder. Yay. [3]

Walked past this thing for 15 years. Today was the auspicious day.

Possibly a good-ish warmup option.

Quite interesting with some cool holds.

Couldn't walk past this on the way out. With the huecos, just looked awesome. And it was!
