Ascents in Rex Hunt's Area having Beta

Repeat. I remember this feeling nails, but I absolutely cruised it today. Super obvious, and super pleasant crack climbing.

Repeat. I forgot how sustained this was. With my current form, I just barely squeaked it, to be honest.

Repeat. This is just a really fun climb, and not too hard at the grade. Feeling good on the slow return-to-form after 5 months on the couch.

Maybe shouldve saved it for a lead, but i jumped at the chance to fit it in at the end of the trip. Amazing line, and i think much easier than tenere

Fell at the top after miss reading the pockets. So sick!

Did so well with managing the sustained first 28m only to fall at the crux. Finger pockets/slopers - what a way to finish

Felt like I had no endurance today, I'm gonna blame it on covid. Very tough, insecure jams in the finale, which in classic perp fashion was quite balls to the wall. Managed all the moves at the top in the ABTR-style (Always be top roping).

Got a bit pumped and greased off a slopey hold. Probably would have dropped it at the top anyway. Mega pockets at the top, though one section felt quite reachy, slopey and pumpy. Used a 0.4 between bolts halfway, but you could also not place anything if you're brave. Keen to have another go at this at some stage.

Pretty fire, so pumpy, clipped crux off a stacked mono, glad I still have pulleys. Potential for some pretty epic whips on this

Had a good look at it on the rap down and very happy to flash this one. Spent a long time chilling on the half way rest and was glad to have done so as the top half was fairly sustained.

I annoyingly forgot extenders and one of my can placements caused the rope to get stuck around a flake meaning I couldn’t clip the last draw and got super pumped and had to whip 😵‍💫 got it clean on second after. it’s a nice route but not a classy as northern exposure.

Awesome crack line. Awesome view. Plenty of gear and places to shake out. Trad headgame is feeling really good at the moment. Comfortably ran out the bottom to conserve hand-sized gear.

Gear beta: eats greens and reds if you're not conservative with placements. Good medium nut placements throughout. Save a red and green for the final hand sequence at the end. Did not touch blues or above.

The rope was already rigged so we ran laps on it. Second time around I stuck to the crack and jam-backed the roof section, it felt much better.

Got about 3 meters up before placing my only 4. Decided to bail after seeing the crack only getting wider from there. Bring plenty of big cams for this one if you’re keen.

We started from the chains so maybe its only half the route? Anyways, easy little lead with a small roof. I took the easy option on lead and steered right to the safety of the other side of the boulder for a bit before committing to the left crack and going to the top.

So so good! Fell 3m from the top !!

yew, the last bit is class. I need to come back and get more like this done. Topping out feels good after 30m of climbing.

Based on the dust and cobwebs this probably doesn't see much traffic but it's pretty neat. If we hadn't left some gear at the bottom we would have been done for the day but it was a really great little one to finish up with. Nice to have some jams for a change and switch up the muscle groups.

Very sustained, a low crux right off then great up to the wide crack at 2/3 for a good rest. Then the doom music kicks in for the finale! Was pretty done by here and prawn dogged the last few meters

Lovely sustained climbing. Rap inspected then jumped on lead. Having the draws pre placed was helpful. As an onsight you might want gear, but if the draws are on its totally fine as a sport route.

Wow, absolutely mega. Mis read the last few holds before the top and popped off. The exposure is so good!

Byyyy far the best 21 I’ve climbed continuous with no especially hard crux and the pockets at the very top make for some of the most unique sandstone climbing around.

Great climbing, probably the best line I did all day - though I question why the first few bolts exist. One of the rings is sticking out over a cm (still safe), but there’s also trad gear everywhere until the top couple bolts

This was the first climb to make my overconfident younger self feel fear - I had to bail onto my rap line and escape.

A year later I came back and sent it, although with a lot of struggle. I was shocked that my seconder could do it without tape gloves.

This time - it felt so chill! Awesome, pumpy jams at the top - and not a shred of tape on my hands. Definitely a Perp classic.

Had none of the gear I needed so bumped a single five the whole way. Very fun.

Yo this was hard, I ascended this route with the same question consistently popping into my mind. Is the next hold a good pocket or is it a shocking sloper? I met a good sized spider at the last bolt
