Access issues inherited from Cedar Creek

Rainfall/Flooding/Raised Water Levels

'Cedar Creek' is prone to flash flooding after heavy rainfall and general flooding or regular high water levels during/after rainfall which significantly impacts access to boulders and areas.

Check local community pages if unsure.

Private Property

Toward the end of Cedar Creek Rd are several private properties inaccessible to the public. Ensure no gates are passed (even if open).

Ethic inherited from Cedar Creek

'Cedar Creek' has been in the news due to its popularity with the public; namely rubbish and conflicts with landowners. As climbers we must set an example for ourselves:

  • Respect the landowners
  • Take your rubbish (as always)
  • Bring containers for removing public rubbish if you can
  • Do not contribute to the graffiti
  • Bring poo-bags for your crag pup

Fantastic, long compression moves up arete.

Start matched on deep slot with left heel hook on sloping rail. Left hand to flake crimp intermediate, and latch a long reach for a side pull far left. Heel hook right, and another long move to good, sloping edge high right. Left hand to juggy rail and top out.

Much harder if you're short.

Same as for arete sit start, but finish up arete directly, avoiding easier top out.

Probably not much harder, but the landing at the top will be nasty, and it needs a clean.
