Summary

Located in the middle of the city.

Description

"The Cutting" is an old quarry in the middle of the city. Some bouldering and potential for trad climbing. Loose rock and sharp edges, best to climb elsewhere.

Access issues

  • Due to loose rock, climbing here on the weekend is best when the car park is empty.
  • Top roping has been done here but may not be allowed. Do not be surprised if you're asked to move on.

Where to stay

Obviously NO CAMPING

Ethic inherited from Castle Hill

Be careful of loose rock and of people walking on the trails below the climbs.

  3. Variant finish - take the corner to the right 5m from the top.
