First lead I ever attempted. Bouldery climb with a superfun move in the middle. Had a little scramble at the top and fell a little on a hand jam. Now have a little spot to remind me always of my first lead outdoors .
returned recently and was still as fun as it was the first time.
There were 5 red cams in the crack when I got to the top (I only clipped 3). Figured there wasn't enough fixed gear so I punched an overcammed in near the top, couldn't adjust it on the lead and didn't clip it. (Miranda easily got it out). Good little climb, wish it was a bit longer.
The stuck cam there is really annoying. It's in a good handhold and its properly fucked. I was like yeah it's not going anywhere until I looked at it. Definitely do not clip it. One of the lobes is completely destroyed, has been cut in half. Didn't have a crack at getting it out, I figured better minds than me have tried. I think it's probably worth cutting the sling, I might bring a knife next time I head to the gorge.
Climbed this four times today, the mission set was that no jugs were allowed. Once you take away the easy holds it is actually very enjoyable climbing - I had a lot of fun keeping my balance using the less than ideal holds and very small feet chips. Some nicechallenging moments.
I try to rate ascents close to what they would be classified outdoors. Gym ratings are often a bit generous. This was a 21 on gym rating. Was a bit pumped but it’s super achievable.
