Ascents of Cactus

I led pitch one and how good! Fun stemming and jamming, had to push myself on this one. Ange led P2 which had a cruxy bit at the start and then felt much easier

All the stemming and lots of finger crack.

Linked P1-2 and P3-4.

Topped out because I missed the final ring bolts (they're left around an arete and not visible when following the crack). Even though the last 10m is pretty average pro/climbing, just finishing at the bolts seems anti-climactic anyway.

Gear: triples to 3 and wires when linking; preserve small cams.

First pitch only, nice chimney moves

Tricky one this , but excellent.

1st, 3rd+4th led. Ben led 2nd.

Stacked Dr freeze on top of this which took us a a total of 5.5 hours from start of cactus back there. (Getting from top of cactus to setting off on freeze took 40 minutes) Climbing at good pace and then soaking up the views on a very cruizy descent. Rapped back down at tree with red sling and maillon which gets you to base of sizzler in 2 raps on dbl 60s Peter led p1&2 I led p3&4. combined them with double rack cams 0.4-1 and single 2/3 plus full set of nuts.

Done as 2 big pitches and was glorious. Would recommend this method. With Jake Delaney leading 1&2

I took P1 and P2 linked, Tommy Totem took out the top two pitches linked. Would highly recommend the link for some full value gear placing. Trailed a rope for rappel-first time and miraculously it worked out. Most relaxed I was all weekend.

Great to see the upper pitches and well worth doing. Consistently delivers, a real classic. A little warm in full sun. Purple cam eater, had a bit of fun retrieving a nut from the 2nd belay.

Only pitch 1. Holy shit this route is nails for 18! In true Wolgan fashion I reckon' it would be a 20 in the Bluies (similar to Solomon perhaps). This commentary is only for the first pitch since that's all we did, but yeah, quite hard. I probably could have used 3 .5's as well...

Note to self: checkout climb better before deciding to attempt it in oversized trashed mountain boots... and decide better .,. Any way, redeemed myself with mega pitch above that, though I was extremely short on draws somehow... didn’t leave Nate much at the top but no other option really .. sorry matey... Probably best as 2 decent length pitches. Single rack, wires and draws should do .. ymmv ..

Linked p1/2, 3/4. Forgot how frikken good this climb is.. Everything just absolute class.. Even the belay ledges and rap back down were sweet.. Buzzing

Lead pitches 1 and 2 together. 0.5 Camalots very useful on pitches 1 and 3.

Late in the day attempting Will's 80m monster pitch however I slipped at the top of the first pitch and it was all over Great climbing though Retreat to the pub hahah

the first pitch felt hard for 18 but perhaps that's because it the first pitch and Im rusty from not climbing much lately...

Climbed as a mega pitch from the ground to the double bolt belay half way up pitch four and 8m of rambling from the very of the cliff. The most fun I've had on a rock climb in ages!!! If you do it in this way, which I totally totally recommend, it is probably the best trad route in the Greater Blue Mountains area! Amazingly clean and varied corner crack climbing at a sustained grade for almost 75m!! You can have this amazing single pitch adventure with just one 80m rope which can then be used to do two bolted raps to get back down. I took a hilariously enormous rack (even broke out the gear sling) but you might get away reasonably comfortably with triple cams, a bunch of wires and a million quick draws!

Linked the 1st 3 pitches as a giant 65m megapitch of dreamy, sustained corner-crack climbing. Became quite exciting (and moderately sketchy) with my relatively limited double-rack as I got higher and higher. A contender for one of the most "consistently good" crack multis in the Greater Blue Mountains area.

Pitch one only,managed to squeeze it in before dark. Felt harder than the knuckle to me but great climb with fantastic pro. Left at the ledge on the top of pitch 1 to the new looking rings and down form there.

Good climb. First pitch felt hard for the grade. Tim ran pitches 3 & 4 together.

Rested on the first pitch (stiff!) great climbing throughout!!

Would be classic if every pitch was a good as the first. Quite the warmup! OS P1, 2nd clean P2, OS P3-4.
