Ascents in The Chief as Hang dog

Got very close to it! Worked out all the moves.

Linking both pitches is really rough at the top, came off pulling over the lip. I'd recommend doing it as 2 or just bring a lot of extenders and be relatively sparing with gear.

So good! Awesome hands to finger crack. Felt a bit insecure with the feet up high, and it felt hard and unrelenting. Slipped out and took a good fall! Coooool

My best belay tick. Also the best rock climb in the universe. Time to deaden those nerve endings and practice my mono bicep curls.

It has holds, is just standing, and yet it’s still so hard. Spent two days up there belaying Victoria who came agonisingly close multiple times. Had a great day where I belayed her very almost send in the morning then ran to Cobra Crack to belay Adrian on his actual send of that. Unreal times in the Canadian Forest. My friends are so fucking cool. Walking is hard.

the first pitch was kinda messed up, fist jams, body jams, felt like wrists, elbows and ankles were gonna break...crack school strikes again

Looked down at hand crack to finger cracks and said "wtf why would anyone want to do this to themselves" Crack school hurts, it hurts my ego, my fingers, and hands and soul.

Awesome route. Balancy and technical climbing in the first pitch, perfect splitter in the 2nd (take a lot of 0.5). Killer third, with a flairing crack and a hard corner.

Had to aid through the fist roof move, super fun climb!

Such a classic climb. Used two points of aid, Until the final 10c sport pitch, where I pulled on nearly every draw.

Instead of a sendy sausage sizzle we are having hangdog hotdogs for lunch.

Saved this climb for my last climb in Squamish. This climb has it all, from techie slabs, finger cracks, lay backs, hand jams, run outs, under cling traverses, bolt ladders. You name it, it has it. Slipped off Split Pillar and took a screamer on the sword pitch. Wouldn’t have wanted a better partner to do this with. Cheers John. And to the rest of the parties on this route on this day 👊

I pulled on on more bolt then was legal. Hahah We'll come back soon, and lead opposite pitches. 4 very classic pitches, some of the best exposure I've gotten out here.

Got all the moves but got pumped out of my mind near the top. Feels more like 25 to me. I'll be back for this one, absolutely mega line.

My god what a climb, very consistent climbing. Long pitch, got super close to the send but took a whip just before the anchors. Such a nice tough line. Would recommend 10/10. fyi definitely protect the last 2 meters of climbing

just barely took a slow fall and grabbed the rope. lost grip with hot shoe rubber in the sun. Linked pitches.

Quite committing climbing that rarely ever lets up. It seems feel both low angle and steep in that youre pumped but youll probably still need to be quick-footed on a fall. Alot of 'granite footwork' required. Pretty mentally exhausted after this one. A fallen cam from the 4th pitch led to an interesting cam extraction from a tree with the local natural stick clip.

One of the most amazing days I’ve had on the Chief despite taking possibly one of the most epic ass-kickings ever seen on that wall. Hopefully get back to finish as it’s in the top ten category on my lifetime bucket list. I don’t think climbing gets better than this route.
