The Swabian Jura offers numerous possibilities for sport climbing and belongs - together with the Elbe Sandstone Mountains aka Saxon Switzerland and the Franconian Jura - to the outstanding low mountain ranges in Germany when it comes to climbing.

The 'upper Danube valley'[249396492] offers the best climbing possibilities and the highest walls. Other areas with good climbing possibilities are located in the 'Blaubeuren area'[249297927], in the 'Lenninger Valley'[249521403] and in the 'Ermstal Valley'[249742932]. The individual guides over the numerous larger and smaller rocks are described in several climbing guidebooks. On the Ostalb the rock formations of the Rosenstein near Heubach and the Eselsburger Tal are among the best known climbing areas. The steep rocks at the ruin Reußenstein near Neidlingen are also a popular place for climbing. In the Swabian Jura area there are hundreds of climbing routes up to difficulty level 10.

Climbing has not been permitted everywhere for several years. The Nature Conservation Act of Baden-Wuerttemberg includes the rocks among the so-called §24a biotopes. In principle, entering these biotopes is not permitted. In recent years, the nature conservation administration and the climbing associations have succeeded in defining the areas that can be climbed and the climbing bans for the entire Swabian Jura. Some rocks are now closed all year round, some climbing bans only apply seasonally during the breeding season of certain bird species (e.g. eagle owl or kestrel).

Auf dem Wanderparkplatz parken (48.705927, 9.905022) und auf Wanderweg gen Westen. Man passiert ein Gehöft und kommt schließlich an einen Mobilfunkmast. Hinter diesem führt ein kleiner Pfad über Stufen hinab zum Fels. Zustieg ca 20 min.

Parken auf dem Wanderparkplatz Eichhölzle. Dem Waldweg am linken Ende zum Trauf folgen und dann linkshaltend bis zu den Bänken am Kahlenstein (ca. 15 min.). Dem Wanderweg bergab Richtung Bad Überkingen folgen, er führt direkt am Südfelsen vorbei. Durch die Höhle in diesem kommt man auf die andere Seite und dort nach ca. 20m an den Nordfels.

描述

Der Rosenstein (735 m) oberhalb von Heubach ist ein sehr beliebtes Ausflugsziel und Naherholungsgebiet im Ostalbkreis. Ausflügler, Wanderer und insbesondere kommen hier natürlich Kletterer auf ihre Kosten. Es ist eines der beliebtesten Klettergebiete auf der Ostalb. Es gibt hier drei Felsmassive die natürlich alle aus diesem typische löchrigen Rosensteinkalk bestehen, sich jedoch vom Charakter total unterscheiden. Am Westfels trifft man auf sehr steile und anstrengende Wandkletterei an Kanten und kleinsten Löchern. Der Mittelfels (Sofienfels) ist sehr löchrig und erinnert sehr an die Fränkische. Hier kommt auch der Gediegene und Genusskletterer auf seine Kosten. Durch das große Angebot an leichten Touren, ist an manchen Tagen und vor allem am Wochenende der Andrang am Mittelfels sehr hoch. Wer es ruhiger mag der ist am Ostfels richtig, die Kletterei ist hier eher Alpin. Keile, Friends und ein Päckchen Mut im Chalkbag sollten aber Abhilfe schaffen. Nach erfolgreichen Felsexkursion, bietet es sich auch immer gut an, das ganze mit etwas Hopfensaft in der Waldschenke ausklingen zu lassen.

By car:

Motorway junction Kirchheim unter Teck, exit Kirchheim/Lenningen, take the B 465 towards Lenningen (approx. 12 km to Oberlenningen).

By public transport:

Coming from Stuttgart take the S1 to Kirchheim/ Teck. From Tübingen take the Regionalexpress to Wendlingen and from there also the S1. From Kirchheim you can either take the Teckbahn to Oberlenningen or the bus line 177 to Schopfloch. Within Lenningen, line 179 runs from Oberlenningen via Unterlenningen to Hochwang.

The Crag not far from the castle ruins "Hohen Neuffen" has a growing popularity since it has been retro bolted. Driving force was Andreas Bachner, who revived a variety of old classics and extended the amount of routes significantly. A beautiful small climbing area, with almost no approach. However, this has gotten around so fast that the once-poorly visited rock nowadays is teeming with climbers when conditiones are good. The rock is also so ingeniously aligned that one can climb well on windless winter days.

The Friedrichstürme is the first crag (comming from Kirchheim-Teck) on the western downhill side of the Lenningen valley.

Leave your car at the hiking parking "Bassgeige" at the northern end of Erkenbrechtsweiler. From there follow the road in north-east direction to a power pole and the official fire and barbecue place. The road ends at the fire place and changes over to a gravel road through the forest. Follow the path until it turns right and look for a smaller path. It should turn off left. Stay on this path straight to the edge of the valley and the head of the 'Großer Turm'.

历史

Seit dem 14. Jahrhundert erscheint die Sulzburg in Urkunden. Die ersten bekannten Besitzer waren die Herren von Neidlingen. Ab ca. 1395 war die Sulzburg württembergisches Lehen eines Zweigs der Herren von Speth, der sich Speth von Sulzburg nannte. Während des 30-jährigen Kriegs wurde die Burg von kaiserlichen Truppen besetzt und zerstört, doch später wieder aufgebaut. Nachdem die Speth ausgestorben waren, erhielt 1650 Philipp Ludwig von Cannstatt die Sulzburg als Lehen. Dessen Töchter verkauften die Anlage 1692 an die Herzoginmutter Magdalena Sibylle, die in Kirchheim residierende Witwe Herzog Wilhelm Ludwigs. Bis gegen 1700 wohnte ein alter Burgvogt oben auf der Sulzburg, dann wurde das seit langem baufällige Gemäuer unbewohnbar. 1966/67 wurde die Ruine gesichert und teilweise wiederaufgebaut.

The 'Gelber Fels' is part of the Teckberg, at the northern end of which the Teck Castle, visible from afar, towers 350m above the Alb lowlands. With its up to 40m high main rock, it is a popular destination for friends of longer routes, exposure and great views. Hard movers will find some seriously overhanging test pieces on the 'Unterer Fels'.

Unfortunately, the yellow colour is there for a reason and you should be warned: The rock quality is not the best but a visit is worthwhile in any case because there is more to discover than climbing routes.

From the car park on the hiking trail in the direction of Teck Castle. About halfway up to the ridge (48.5858516, 9.4681987), a path turns off horizontally to the right. Follow this path to the base of the wall.

Alternatively stay on the trail to the castle until you reach the ridge. Then turn right and approach the crag from the top. On top of the 'Oberer Fels' you will find a sign and two rings.

Leave your car at Heinrich-Scheufelen-Platz (48.550001, 9.475358). From there, walk east through Wannenweg. At the end of Wannenweg turn slightly left into Eibenweg to the end of the village and the beginning of Tobeltal (48.5506361, 9.4790407). Here turn left to the T-junction with Tobelstrasse and continue straight on to the footpath (48.5513108, 9.4793304). Follow the trail to a bench at a small rock and continue for another 200m until a small path branches off to the left to the rocks.

The Reußenstein is a cliff located at the end of the Neidlinger valley. On top of the main cliff there is an old castle ruin which gives the place its name. On weekends this is a very popular place for barbecues and the finish of beautiful hikes in the area.

The crag consists of three main sectors. The 'Hauptfels' below the ruin, the 'Mittelfels' and its neighbour 'Nadel' and the 'Südostfels'.

Der Fels ist vielleicht besser zu beschreiben als "Bröselfels" ... sehr brüchiges Gestein. Man merkt das dieser Fels nicht so oft beklettert wurde. Das hat auch seine Vorteile. Hier ist nichts speckig. Die längsten Routen sind ca. 12m. Einige wirklich sehr interessante Probleme dabei. Trotz Bruch wirklich schön. Ganz tolle Aussicht auf Seeburg und Schloss. Alle Routen sind sehr gut versichert. Mobile Sicherungen sind nicht notwendig. Ein echtes Sportklettergebiet.

历史

Wenn davon abgesehen wird, daß die Felsen des Blautals immer schon auf leichten, frei begeh- und kletterbaren Wegen und Führen erstiegen wurden, wenn ferner davon ausgegangen wird, daß die Verwendung von Haken als klettertechnische Hilfsmittel im wesentlichen erst nach 1900 Eingang gefunden hat, ist es zweifellos richtig, den Beginn der eigentlichen klettertechnischen Erschließung des Blautals mit dem Beginn dieses Jahrhunderts gleichzusetzen.

Der erste namentlich bekannte und wahrscheinlich überhaupt der erste eigentliche Erschließer der Kletterfelsen des Blautals unter Verwendung von Haken und auf Führen höherer Schwierigkeitsgrade ist Heinrich Kreuzer. Er hat mit Gefährten im Jahr 1908 den Ostriß sowie die Südwand des 'Altentaler Kogels' erstmals begangen und die in diesen Anstiegsführen noch heute steckenden Haken geschlagen. Außerdem darf angenommen werden, daß der Genannte Erstbegeher folgender, vor dem Ersten Weltkrieg bereits begangener Führen ist: Ostwand und Westwand des 'Katzentaler Fels', Nordwand und alte Südwand des 'Brucker Grat', Kamin des 'Rusenschloß', u.a.

Während vor dem Ersten Weltkrieg und in den ersten Jahren danach Kletterer im Blautal nur vereinzelt anzutreffen waren, änderte sich dies ab Mitte der 20er Jahre. Neben Mitgliedern der Sektionen Ulm, Neu-Ulm und des Turnerbund Ulm des Alpenvereins waren es auch Mitglieder des Skiclubs Blaubeuren sowie des Touristenvereins "Die Naturfreunde", Ortgruppe Ulm, die immer stärker als Blautalkletterer in Erscheinung traten. Das herausragende Ergebnis der frühen 20er Jahre ist die Erstbegehung der 'Glasfelsen'-Westkante (3 Seillängen) im Jahre 1922 durch Kurt Leuze und Adolf Wenzelburger.

Während der 30er Jahre erfolgte die weitestgehende Erschließung der Kletterfelsen des Blautals, wobei Führen eröffnet wurden, deren Begehung noch wenige Jahre zuvor für unmöglich gehalten wurde. Diese Erstbegehungen wurden im übrigen vorwiegend von Mitgliedern der Sektion Neu-Ulm durchgeführt. Im einzelnen handelt es sich um folgende Führen und deren Erstbegeher:

• 1931: 'Wannenwändle'; Südwand: Fritz Rottenfusser, Fritz Wittlinger
• 1932: 'Felsenbank'; Westkante: Paul Hartschuh, Sepp Brauchte
• 1934: 'Kreuzfelsen' (Teufelsküche); Dülferriß: Erwin Treiber, Alfred Wacker
• 1936: 'Sirgenstein'; Westriß: Hans Röhrer, Gustl Fahrian, Ernst Gross

Beim Versuch, die in der Teufelsküche-Westwand befindliche Verschneidung (Dülferriß) erstmals zu begehen, stürzte im Jahre 1931 K. Blessing (Ulm) ab. Zu seinem Gedächtnis errichteten nach der nunmehr erfolgreichen Begehung der Führe P. Hartschuh und S. Brauchte unter Mithilfe von A. Hettich und K. Schwer das Gipfelkreuz, nach dem der Felsen heute benannt wird.

Selbst während der Kriegsjahre wurde im Blautal geklettert. Das Wandbuch der Felsenbank weist im Jahre 1943 folgende Eintragung auf:

Nach harten und schweren Rußlandwochen während des Fronturlaubs und nach 3-jähriger Pause wieder am alten geliebten Felsenbankplatz. Berg Heil Schorsch Meier und Wilhelm Kling i. Gen. Urlaub

Die Generation, die sich ab Mitte der 50er Jahre und in den 60er Jahren bergsteigerisch betätigte, hatte insbesondere größere Alpenfahrten vor Augen. Zur Vorbereitung dieser Unternehmungen wurden Touren im Blautal geklettert.

Mit der Begehung immer schwierigerer Alpenwände stieg auch das Kletterniveau in den heimatlichen Klettergärten. So entstanden zahlreiche Touren des VI. Grads ("äußerst schwierig") auch im Blautal. Stellvertretend für diese Epoche der Sestogradisten seien folgende Kletterwege angeführt:

• 1952: 'Blautalwand'; Blautalquergang: 0. Lutz, W. Köpf
• 1955: 'Altentaler Kogel'; Nordwand: R. Herrmann, H. Kaiser
• 1961: 'Achtaler Fels'; Trachtlerverschneidung: R. Ott u. Gefährten
• 1965: 'Rusenschloß'; Rettichwand: Gebr. Löchner
• 1971: 'Brucker Grat': Henry-Scheer-Führe: H. Scheer
• 1972: 'Zwilling': Revalvariante: S. Mack u. Gefährten
• 1974: 'Schneck': Sauglob: S. Mack u. Gefährten

Ende der 70er Jahre wurde die Philosophie des hakentechnischen Kletterns (z.B. von Überhängen unter Einsatz von Trittleitern) von der neuen Kletter-Ethik abgelöst. "Frei" - also ohne Haken als Fortbewegungshilfe zu klettern war das Ziel. Haken und Seil dienten fortan lediglich zur Siche'ung, nicht jedoch als Hilfsmittel zur Überwindung der Vertikalen.

Insbesondere junge Kletterer machten sich mit Ehrgeiz daran, sich durch intensives Training körperliche und psychische Fähigkeiten anzueignen um nahezu strukturlose, glatte - bis dahin als "nicht bekletterbar" bewertete - Felswände zu meistern. Doch lassen wir die Vertreter dieser neuen Epoche selbst über die klettersportliche Bedeutung des Blautals berichten.

The Rabenfels is divided into two areas, which allow different climbing. The left rock offers only very few easy routes and rather hard climbing meters in solid rock. These routes demand particularly good foot technique. While the left part is very straightforward, the right part is clearly more difficult. It is not exactly more beautiful, but a lot harder. The overhang is only something for specialists who have enough strength and endurance. For the moderate climber the valley side offers a lot of nice variations.

The Rabenfels is partly vertical and slightly overhanging. The sun is early here and together with the view offers a nice atmosphere.

The 'Stuhlfels' is located at the north end of Hausen im Tal, above the Ebinger Haus. To the west you will find the 'Dachstein' and on the other side of the valley (east) the so called "Hausener Felsen" (the cliffs of Hausen).

The crag offers a lot routes for beginners and intermediate climbers. Single and multi pitches, overhangs, abseiling and a nice view to Hausen im Tal and the other crags like the 'Alte Hausener Wand'.

The Schaufelsen in the Upper Danube Valley is the largest non-alpine rocks of Germany and an outstanding climbing area. The rock group between 'Traumfels' and 'Blicklefels' has a large alpine tradition. At the main sector are an array of classic and modern routes routes over several pitches. Germany-wide known is the 'Kaiserweg' with its five pitches, developed by the team Günter Nothdurft and Walter Seeger in 1955.
