The routes are short, but some of them are still really good. This one climbs an overhanging arête with good holds on the right. I alternated between kneebars and heelhooks.

Sat 28th Jul 2012
Very long first pitch, close to rope length. Second pitch is short but quite difficult at 5.10c. To avoid this pitch traverse left along obvious ledge and climb a 5.9+ pitch to the top. I give this climb 3 stars because of the long pitch and the incredible scenery more than for the climbing alone. Breathtaking view, and you are likely to see a moose or two below. I led first pitch, Tyler led p2.

rad! very sketchy direct start, super insecure to the first and second bolt. extend second and third bolt. stay on the face before the flake but don't dump out left, pull the flake and make the move for the jug above, heel hook for justice.

Really fun climb. This is the first climb as you enter the crag. (tommy is to the right and J is the the left)

Climbs like a 5.8+ until the last 10 feet, a tiny past verticle but with huge jugs then with 10 feet left the holds get sparce and goes beyond verticle. Mover up the small holds to the right of the bolts to get to the top.

Exquisite route! Lower half is a solid fist-to-hands crack with excellent pro up to 4", to a brief flake below the first bolt at about 50 ft. From there you follow a total of 8 bolts over difficult vertical slab with a definite crux before you finally reach chains with cold shuts.

We stopped by to do two or three routes and it was definitely worth it. Really nice basalt pillars which make good climbing. This particular route follows a crack between pillars with plenty of face holds. I got a bit scared at the top with the last cam more than a meter below me...

5.8 Twist and Crawl Trad City of Rocks

Thu 22nd Jun 2023
neat. super run out to the first bolt, patina plates, friction only and then a nice parallel crack that eats gear and a super easy roof you can basically gain by just getting straight up to it before you put a left foot up. def bring lots of gear . 5 and below, one . 75 would work for the roof before the mussies as well.

direct way was definitely the right choice. used a #5 before hitting the ledge before the double crack. ate gear, should have placed more nuts. lots of face hands and feet but tried to mostly stay in the crack. ran over to the anchors to the right to lower off and retrieve gear because my second wasn't going up and barely made it with a 70m

Sun 25th Jun 2023
full fun! start straight up under the bolt line and slot a piece in the diagonal that meets the dihedral wall to the right and run to through four bolts, extend super long if using the bolt under the roof (a 120cm is still too short to fully cut rope drag) or use pro. skip the fifth bolt (it dumb) enjoy the stemming moves and go right at the roof to the chains or suffer a down climb.

5.7 Loaded Gun - with Adra Lobdell Trad 14m Boise Classic

Sun 28th Mar 2021
Most of the lower crack was too small for my fingers but i was able to use features to the right. Protection was everywhere. Mostly .3 to .4 and smaller down low, then .5 to .75 in the middle. The off-width crack is too large for a 5" camalot, but there were placements in the smaller cracks in back of the main crack, and I placed a #1, #2 & #3 in the cracks in back. The last section coming out of the OW was really fun with a nice ledge at the anchors.
