Feels good to be back! Have had a dodgy finger (bouldering gym injury) for 3 weeks. First time back on rock in a while, and stoked that offwidths and cracks are still accessible!
This is a great offwidth, btw, requiring proper offwidth techniques and without too many face holds to cheat on. Well protected with big gear, though beware the high big block. Best to use big bros in the top block of the LS crack if you're planning on falling as the sideways force exerted on the block is less with a Big Bro |

Very nice slabbing in the style of an old school adventure. For some reason the runouts took us by surprise when we should have taken note of the date of the FA and been expecting them haha! Loved it. Sorta did a pitch of Japhlion instead of the 3rd pitch then got back on track afterwards
Also - Got lost on the approach and rapped off some random bolts, got our rope stuck, then had to climb some random crack + runout slab on a single half rope to get back to the anchor! Will log it as a new route at some point and see if it has been done before. Wasn't half bad. |

Increeeeeeeeedible! My experience of this line was somewhat spoiled by my inability to let go of the fact that my backpack was going to thwart my ability to exploit comfortably resting in the corner at the start haha. I just couldn't accept it and kept getting annoyed at the pack getting in the way! A good lesson in dealing with minor annoyances I guess haha. Going around the roof was epppic, and it took me a while to ball up and execute. Just incredible! Love this Buffalo granite! Oh also for memory's sake, didn't bring enough big gear so had to make an anchor for Dave to ferry gear up to me. Doubles of 3s, 4s and 5s recommended for maximum comfort unless you want to walk gear

As grand a day-venture as you can have in SEQ! More like 370m as rather than the 300m description. Incredible slab climbing on the whole route, apart from the crux section up a rotten corner with uninspiring gear. Proud of pushing through the mental battles on this one.
There is some awesome multi pitch slab potential to the left of this route which will be just stellar climbing. An awesome contender for ground-up mixed routes I reckon. 3 hours hike-in, 5hr20 on the route, 2.5hr hike-out. |

A long ascent. I need to work on my commitment when I'm unsure about the climbing, and just be happy to run it out about good gear! I think I'm overly measured. This is actually a great climb. The off width section is great and good OW footwork is helpful, then from the handcrack to the top is classy as!
Gear was mostly good, though tricky to get gear in the off-width section above the shrub stump (bomber) and most of the gear until the hand-crack is in loose rock, but I think it's still good. |

Quite a memorable lead. Plenty of gardening, a bit of loose rock, some nice face climbing, good gear that you definitely need to search for, and a bloody fantastic 15 degree overhanging wide hands corner crack finale that is absolutely epic ... and then the roof! The roof totally will go, but looks diabolical. Was fun aiding out the roof on those bolts, but will need to replace them before trying to free the roof.
Could go with inverted OW techniques> powerful under-clinging? kneebars? bunched up chimney-ing? No idea, but keen to find out! |

A lot of the rock on the South Face seems to have eroded with an incut in them, as opposed to the north faces and Desperation Wall being sloper - maybe the tops of the columns lie in the south, and the bottoms in the north? |

On a fine, chilly Sunday on the way to Kozci with a legend named Frosty. What a great way to spend a day, and what an incredible crag! The position and the unique rock are outrageous. Looking forward to spending a couple weeks out here in future. The day was made all the more better by the wildlife: 2 male lyrebirds making calls to eachother (either fighting for territory or one was a gay lyrebird trying to pick up the other), a brief high-flying wombat who now less briefly is laying deceased on the gorge floor, a few peregrines, and a mumma goat and her kid that came charging around the corner to see us, and stumble over their own hooves when trying to turn around and flee as soon as they saw us. Oh yeah, and did I mention the climbing was stellar?
