Glad I finally ticked this ! One of the hardest ‘21s’ I’ve done. Seriously sand bagged !!

Second time working this, fucking hard for a 21.

Some interesting bits

Only climbed this because my 5-year-old wanted me to. Not a great choice. The finish is very contrived, not to mention hard for the grade.

Great with a bit of crack lowering the quality through the middle. It helps to have big muscle strength with strong fingers for the shallow pockets.

Very sharp holds. This climb spanked me.

Not the climb to leave until the end of the day. My belayer told me it's nicknamed the devil climb once above the second bolt...desperate start, a necessary detour into the crack, a full body pendulum to circumvent the thin feet on the rightwards traverse, and a 2 finger half pad undercling to finish. At least the clipping position was nice!

Warm-up due to the rain. I was so close on my 2nd shot but missed it. Next time!

Flash but for the first committing move past the first bolt. Some hard moves on this, and the ending is bloody exciting. I was in a stemming stance before the last moves for ages before throwing myself at it with everything I had. Really makes you think, with both footwork and hard placement imperative to make this to the grade.

What no stars? I thought this was fun with a great couple of moves.

hmmmm. would be pretty cool if you didn't have to use the crack to finish it.
