An old climbing location that rarely sees visits in the recent times. There is no elevation gain here.
The oldest documented route here, The Menhir (not to be confused with the boulder with similar name along the Cobra Boulder Trail), was highballed by Shyam Krishnan in the 1990s.
Old memories of the monsoon fed stream flowing through the bed rock, and the gurgling sound of it, while we bouldered on the rocks to the south of it, has certain charm to it. Another dozen high-boulders litter the excavated landscape south of this pile of boulders.
Currently, the area does not provide a very satisfying or sanguine feel to it. Littered garbage, excrement, undergrowth, excavated landscape, lack of tree cover, the ‘choss-factor’ of the terrain contributes to it. But as mentioned there are probably a dozen lines here, that could be climbed afresh and documented.
A decade back, one could access through the fields from the Horizontal crack side. Currently, the land adjacent to the fields is dug up and can be boggy during the monsoons. So, walk further up a few dozen meters east along the fence, where the stream bed starts, and cross over the pile of boulders to access the area.
