A Crag Guide gives an extensive view of all sub areas and climbs at a point in the index. It shows a snapshot of the index heirachy, up to 300 climbs (or areas) on a single web page. It shows selected comments climbers have made on a recently submitted ascent.
At a minor crag level this should be suitable for printing and taking with you on a climbing trip as an adjunct to your guidebook.
This guide was generated anonymously. Login to show your logged ascents against each route.

1.2. Rabenfels im Bäratal 51 routes in Crag
- Summary:
-
All Sport climbing
Lat / Long: 48.079733, 8.929394
description
The Rabenfels is divided into two areas, which allow different climbing. The left rock offers only very few easy routes and rather hard climbing meters in solid rock. These routes demand particularly good foot technique. While the left part is very straightforward, the right part is clearly more difficult. It is not exactly more beautiful, but a lot harder. The overhang is only something for specialists who have enough strength and endurance. For the moderate climber the valley side offers a lot of nice variations.
The Rabenfels is partly vertical and slightly overhanging. The sun is early here and together with the view offers a nice atmosphere.
Very well protected area. In the easier routes you may take slings and nuts with you.

- Summary:
-
Mostly Sport climbing
Lat / Long: 48.077604, 9.039039
description
Coming from the Fuchsfels, the second cliff of the "Zinnen" (merlons). Features 2-pitch routes, mainly face climbing.
approach
Follow the trail from the car park. At the junction with a hiking trail ascending from the valley don't follow the signs to the Verlobungsfels. Keep straight on until the next junction below the Fuchsfels. Turn right and ascent until you reach the trail that connects all cliffs. Turn left and pass the Fuchfels sectors Klemmfix and Metaxa and the 'Westliche Zinne'.
descent notes
Abseiling is possible but scrambling/walking is faster. Enter the top of the cliff and keep right.

Eichkatzel Direkteinstieg
The direct entry to 'Eichkatzelkamin'. Avoids the long traverse but is more difficult. The chimney is very polished but there are very good rest positions. Protection is sufficient. | 5 | 20m | |||||
15 |
★★ Solo per Scoiattoli
Climb in via 'Eichkatzel Direkteinstieg'. It's a very good alternative over the regular finish of the 'Eichkatzelkamin'. FA: Kiefer, 1989 Set: Kiefer, 2003 | 6- | 20m | |||||
16 |
★★ Otto Normalverbraucher
The route starts right from the 'Eichkatzel Direkteinstieg' and the first pitch ends at the same belay. After the belay go straight up and then follow the bolts to the right through the slab. After the 4th bolt head left. The next bolt is far away but the section is not too hard. Then go up and follow the bolts until the top of the face. It is possible to rap off twice with a single rope, once with two half ropes or walk off. To walk off don't use the belay in the face. Climb in the top. There is another bolt you can use to belay and sit comfortably while waiting for the second. FA: Arthur Oswald †, 1997 | 6 | 55m, 2 | |||||

34 |
Herr der Ringe
FA: Kästle & Roth, 1983 | 8- | ||||||
35 |
Eichkatzelkamin
Most easy route of the cliff and a classic. Start below the route 'Kamin' and traverse to the left until you reach the chimney of 'Eichkatzelkamin'. To save time it is possible to pass the first belay where the route crosses 'Discopapa' and 'Piazwandl'. FA: Blickle, 1930 | 4+ | 70m, 2 | |||||
36 |
★ Kamin
The chimney between 'Dritte Zinne' and 'Westliche Zinne'. Always cool and may be wet after rain. Compared to other climbs in the valley the protection is good. Toproping the route isn't recommended. The single belay anchor is around and almost below an edge. Let the second follow or force him/she to lead FA: Arthur Oswald †, 1976 | 6- | 35m, 8 |

history
In 2017 the north side of the 'Erste Zinne' experienced a renessaince. Georg Hermann and Jakob Pelz added some new routes and improved the existing lines of Frank Enz. Among other things, this resulted in another route in the 10th UIAA grade of difficulty.

---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 |
★★ Überlinger Weg
FA: Schellig, 1998 | 6- | 20m, 6 | |||||
2 |
★ Zickzack-Weg
Quite stiff for the grade. Crux between third and fourth bolt may be your self-confidence. Use a nut to keep calm. Set: Arthur Oswald † | 5 | 30m, 10 | |||||
3 |
Direkter Einstieg Eigerturm
Start with Zickzack-Weg and at the 5th bolt change into the first pitch of Eigerturm. Avoids some of the rope drag and therefore the first belay may be skipped to continue to the semi hanging belay below the crux dihedral of 'Direkter Eigerturm'. | 5 | 50m, 3 | |||||
4 |
★★★ Superdirekter Eigerturm
One of the best routes of that grade. Steep, long, good rock and an airy finish. Be aware to don't use the bolts of 'Zickzack-Weg'. If you do you climb to much to the right.
FA: Kreiner & Arthur Oswald †, 1999 | 6+ | 40m, 10 | |||||
5 |
★★ Eigerturm
The easiest route through the face of the Eigerturm. A must climb. Good to warm up and for beginners to learn how to climb multi pitch routes. If the pitches are too long, they can be split at the intermediate lower-off anchors. FA: Nothdurft & Seeger, 1954 | 5- | 61m, 3, 5 | |||||
6 |
★★★ Ruckzuck
Another great diretissima that shares the start with Eigerturm and 'Schwarzwälder Kirsch'. Crosses Eigerturm and 'Direkter Eigerturm' to end right of 'Superdirekter Eigerturm'. FA: Kreiner & Lebherz, 1984 | 7- | 40m, 10 | |||||
7 |
★★ Schwarzwälder Kirsch
A direct and harder start into 'Südpfeiler'. FA: Müller, 2003 | 8- | 40m, 12 | |||||
8 |
★★ Südpfeiler
Starts with a relative easy crack. The first bolt is very high so bring some gear to improve protection and to avoid run outs further up. After the crack keep right and use two ring anchors of 'Direkter Eigerturm'. Then continue straight up with the 5 glue-in bolts until you reach the top of the small pillar. Standing on top of it you may reach the last bolt. Pre-clip it as the next moves are meant to be the crux. Pushing through the crux you will find a flake to place a sling. Use it or you may risk a fall onto the pillars top.
FA: Arthur Oswald †, 1998 | 7 | 45m, 9 | |||||
9 |
★★★ Direkter Eigerturm
Another Eigerturm variant that climbs from right to the center of the wall joins the Eigerturm route branches of into direct finish through a great dihedral. Below the dihedral, the crux, you may use the semi hanging belay to avoid rope drag. Protection may be improved with Cams and nuts. | 6 | 50m, 2, 9 | |||||
10 |
D´Schublad
Shares the start with 'Südpfeiler' but branches to the right at the second ring anchor of 'Direkter Eigerturm'. From there follow the slings right of 'Südpfeiler' route.
FA: Kreiner, 1984 | 7 | 40m, 3 | |||||
11 |
★★ Türmlesweg
Set: Arthur Oswald †, 2006 | 5+ | 40m, 2 | |||||
12 |
Igor
FA: Stöhr & Calmbach, 1983 | 7+ | 30m, 4 | |||||
13 |
★★★ Igor Rechts
Easier variant of 'Igor' along a large shed where you have to take courageously. Great laybacks at the beginning and holes at the end. Nuts are recommended to improve protection before the first bolt and the easier parts above the shed. | 6+ | 30m, 4 | |||||
14 |
★★ Das verlorene Mufflon
Acess from the little platform where Zulliverschneidung starts as well. Dyno between the 2. and 3. bolt. | 8+ | 25m, 7 | |||||
15 |
★★ Zulliverschneidung
Set: C. Katlein & T. Bodmer, 2007 | 5+ | 30m, 5 | |||||
16 |
★★ Die T(k)rügerische Schuppe
The fun part is very short but it is it worth to climb. After an easy ramp (3) that ends on a vegetated platform, follow the bolts on the right of 'Zulliverschneidung'. The line looks difficult but works out quite easy. A little pumpy because you have to piaz. Set: C. Katlein & T. Bodmer, 2007 | 6- | 30m, 8 | |||||
17 |
★★ Dohlenteufel

description
The Schaufelsen in the Upper Danube Valley is the largest non-alpine rocks of Germany and an outstanding climbing area. The rock group between 'Traumfels' and 'Blicklefels' has a large alpine tradition. At the main sector are an array of classic and modern routes routes over several pitches. The secondary sectors offer challenging climbing routes.
Germany-wide known is the 'Kaiserweg' with its five pitches, developed by the team Günter Nothdurft and Walter Seeger in 1955. More classics are the 'Alter Ebinger Turm Weg' from the year 1936 as well as the now disused 'Vagabundenweg' from the year 1948. Modern, sometimes extremely serious sport climbing routes can be found at the 'Traumfels', in 'Hölle', in the main sector and at the 'Blicklefels'.

★★★ Alter Ebinger Turm Weg
Warning Rock: Felsausbruch seillänge 4 von 5 This route is a little alpine adventure in the Danube valley and features varied climbing in an impressive environment. A must for everybody who prepares for routes in the Alps. Protection is sufficient but can be easily improved with nuts, friends and slings. For the descent (abseiling 35m, 45m, 20m) half ropes with 50m length are necessary. Abseiling: From the top ascend to the loweroff before the downclimb, from there straight down into the unknown where you will find another loweroff (to bolts with chain) and from there get to the ground.
