Ascensões em The Enchanted Forest

Hmmmmm. Couldnt get off the ground. Slab is not my strong suit, but I think this one is harder than V1.

A Dickson classic sit start.

This one would be quite a lot harder for shorter folks.

Seemed like a more logical start, however the crack climber with me thought otherwise. Definitely more value if you ask me

No gear, dont fall. Could do with some cleaning.

A nice straight line up the boulder.

A classic line with a possible sit start that will go at a much harder grade. The grade to this climb is a placeholder until subsequent ascents are made.

Second round on fresh hands, the grade feels about right. A couple of high tension moves to an easier top out.

Worked the start out, but the top of the boulder was still wet, so it didnt quite go, next time!

Quality line

Cleaned some of the lichen of the top blankness, which revealed a few tiny nubbins but nothing significantly better to grip than the aforementioned lichen.

Made a bit more progress on potential beta - left heel, with right palm down gives better height onto the top-slab, compress down on nubbin, then if I could manage to bump right palm wider, it'd be done (crux being to stick the left palm). Alternative is to left heel, then dynamically throw from the start holds to get weight over the left foot (to left hand compressing on top, right palm onto the start rail). Latter would be less strong but very hard coordination, and would need maybe 3 pads to make the landing not horrible.

Feels significantly harder than Sockdolager mantle at Venus Baths (V5), so potentially like V6 or more..?

Made good progress on this today! Finally worked out how to get weight onto the left foot and largely unload the right hand - so now "just" a case of committing to shoving down onto blank top with left hand, fully unweighting the right and pistol-squatting up. Pleased I can now do the start move pretty reliably, and without feeling like I'm going to snap my ankle as with previous beta

A great pumpy extension that will make that final mantle that much more desperate.

Starts off powerful, ends with some slopey endurance.

Fairly straight forward except for what turned out to be a misplaced pad and having to call over a sunbathing-spotter

Vastly easier on a warm day than when I tried this in winter when the rock was damp (not sure it's really VB given how tiny the footers are)

This one felt like a V1 once a nice hold appeared after removing some loose rock. Still follows same line

A spicy traverse link up.

Starting matched on the big left ear felt closer to a V2. Nice line with a few new holds after some cleaning.

This is an absolute classic and the best V2 Ive sent in the forest. It is so pure, with great holds and body movement. This is a must for the forest.

A fun dynamic problem. A height dependent problem, taller people will be able to send this statically.

Really nice low ball.

After working out the start move, took maybe 10-16 attempts to get the top. Looking at video, first attempt was almost exactly same as send.. I think about half of those attempts were just trying to find ways around the sharp single-finger pebble hold, which was painful even with taped fingertip.. but there is almost exactly no other holds.

This was harder than I remember it being, but I forgot about the right-hand pebble (confusing it for one out left on the arete). Also didn't realise it was on same boulder (and almost same line) as Pim's Line - except this goes directly up from the big sloper then left, whereas Pim's Line takes path of (slightly less) resistance left then up
