Welcome to the first and only scientifically based and statistically sound ranking for outdoor climbing.
The present Climbing World Ranking is based on the Climber Performance Rating (CPR). Initially developed to measure your personal progress over time, CPR moves climber rating and rankings away from an arbitrary to a scientifically and statistically sound approach. As CPR is taking difficulty, ascent type and time-based decay into account the Climbing World Ranking is a running ranking.
Climbing World Ranking attempts to reflect the current and actual ranking by climbing ability for each discipline. It thus has no time-based cut-offs. As a user of theCrag you automatically participate in the ranking unless you explicitly opt out of it (see your profile page for that). Community Managed Accounts also show up in the ranking. Their ascent information is typically based on publicly available ascents.
