A rather odd first ascent. After a long bush bash uphill to see Danny's promised high quality splitters, Darren and I had our gravest doubts confirmed by the appearance of this short, solitary offwidth.
Danny dealt with the offwidth but couldn't fit in the diagonal squeeze. Instead of bailing, he hand traversed off right and built an anchor, almost back on the ground a little higher up the gully.
I seconded up to the cave and decided to take a look at the squeeze. With Darren egging me on I entered the gravelly mouth, retreated, tried a little closer to the edge, with Darren laughing "this is the best possible thing that could've happened!" and made it through. Danny seconded the squeeze on the outside.

I can certainly say, that for the mild 10 years I've been climbing, that for the variety I've climbed this is by far the worst. Good luck getting there as the walk in and out is at least twice as hard as the climb. As for the climb, the rock quality is trash and covered with moss. Belay points are few and let's just say tracks and even a single solid tree or abseil point are hard to come by. If you think I'm exaggerating a little you're always welcome to try your luck.

It was a 10 hour round trip from Geryon Camp via Pool of Memories, moving at a comfortable pace (although we simul-climbed the Forsight and bypassed the Southern Spur). The crux pitch has some decent climbing, but you'd want to be very comfortable leading 18 as it involves a spicy traverse where a fall wouldn't be wise.

Sea kayaked to narcissus, walked to Geryon campsite day 1. From Geryon campsite Walked to north summit via ascending scree on opposite side of creek, to labyrinth, then eventually finding the walking track to north summit. ( just under 4 hours). Cold westerlies led to snagged rope on abseil from north summit. Abseiled down west side of Foresight to base of south summit pitches. Nice pitches once we figured out where to go. Long exposed descent to scree chute. Where there are beeches seeming to block the way, just push through. About 12 hours at a leisurely pace, but 2 hours of that were navigation errors. Day 3 walked back to Acropolis rail and then up Acropolis, tried Astroboy, walked back to our boats near Narcissus, got up early and seakayaked out. An excellent 72 hours
