Very nice route in amazing grey rock. Climbing is rather steep therefore you have a lot of air underneath. The whole route has new bolts and the anchors are positioned a bit differently than in our guide book. For the approach you have to rappel (or scramble) about 10/15m straight down. There are a few different anchors you can choose from, at the correct anchor the name is written next to it.

Really enjoyed! Jugs the whole way. A 80m rope will get you from the rap to the anchors

Wow, talk about exposure! I don't feel it much, but I did here. It definitely adds some grades. The 1st rappel is 45m, be warned

Did 6b version of L4, very cool ! every day is new surprise while learning about Verdon rock. At L1 I felt like I was surfing waves made out of rock, and the movement felt so natural (as opposed to L5 which kicked my butt with the layback). Impressive versatile climbing throughout.

There was a lot of bird shit in the chimneys.

A bit confusing from the start. We couldn't find the proper start, so we climbed a 6a to get to the first anchors. Grades were a bit sandbag, I guess it's classic grading system from the old days... 6a felt like 6b, 6c+ felt like 7a.

Beautiful route with a adventurous approach traversing the base of the cliff. Very versatile in style.

The route follows patches of high quality rock through the shrubs. Very homogeneous, but it was definitely too hot in the full sun.

Good holds in a slab with lots of air below you

Bouldery and sketchy crux to 3rd draw. Careful lots of loose rocks

Grabbed the draws almost at every pitches . Sandbag. Finished in the dark . Challenging route , makes you humble

I sat on the rope a little, whipped as well.

It was a pretty hot day and we were mostly climbing in the sun. Every step on those Verdon footholds was very painful. The big toes are not used to this style of climbing I reckon.

I found it pretty interesting how every pitch had traversing bits. I usually froth traverses. By the time we got to the top I think I got to understand a little better the Verdon style and what one needs to do to climb here. So Stoked!!!!! Such a unique place!

Very nice beginner route.

For this route you need to abseil down from the top, and climb out. From de Parking "Belvedère de la Carelle" you walk down towards the bend, there you'll find a path leading straight to the cliff. There's a big rock with an abseil-anchor, just before that and about 5m below there's another one. The last one is about 15m further along the cliff. This one is used mostly for the singlepitch climbs at the top of the cliff.

Be sure to arrive early (before 10:00) if you want to avoid queuing up for the abseil, it can be busy.

The route itself is a nice 5c with some short challenging parts, but overall nothing more than you'd expect from a 5c.

Went out with a local guide Philippe. Super short approach, 5min drive from La Palud and 2 min walk from the lookout. Recent route, bolted in 2015 in between some classics. First pitch was mega long, pumped out near the end and rested before the finish. Phillipe shouted out his phone was ringing as he seconded up. I took the rope in while he answered questions in a radio interview about the verdon! Rain started to pick up near the end of the climb. Couldn't pull the crux move on the last pitch on first go, rested and the wall became soaked. Luckily, friends who had just topped out threw down a top rope and helped me through the last 10m in the pouring rain. Safe to say, Phillipe was freezing down at the belay.

What a route!

Lead the first pitch clean, which was super cool The hardesr for me was actually to clip the heavy rope, because the pitch is nearly 50m long. The rest is nice, although there are some lose blocks on pitch 2.

First 8a+ multi-pitch! One day ascent.

Too hot for Le Demand as planned but nice relaxed intro to Verdon

Omitted the first pitch(6b+). The second 7a pitch felt quite hard.200m 6c+/6c/7a/6c+/7a/A0&6c/6b+/6a+

Alternate leads with me starting on lead and finishing seconding. % Not sure if we only did 4 pitches though - might have gone onto another route and done 6 as supposedly there are only 4 pitches on this route! Dogged on middle of first pitch on some tricky slab!

Lead pitch 4 only. Due to some light rain falling we skipped P1. Jen was supposed to lead the whole route as I was on a "rest day". However after finishing P3 she then offered me P4 as it was a very nice technical pitch and definitely my favourite one from my earlier attempt with Kayley a few days earlier and I was keen to send it this time. Unfortunately I fell at the crux this time though which I had previously onsighted! Recall that I also might have had a small fall on P2 and possibly pulled on a draw climbing out of the belay at P3 as Jessie Waldman was belaying Andy Vo up there and I didn't want to fall on her! Didn't send the route this time either but we did finish in daylight though

Upper 6 pitches only of ULA as that includes all of the famous crack climbing. Alternate leads with me starting and also leading the first half of the last pitch as Seb was exhausted and wasn't keen leading in the dark! Best trad multi-pitch route yet by far - incredibly sustained jamming and bridging up a beautiful corner crack with hand, fist, offwidth jamming as well a chimneying - it's got it all. Simply brilliant!
